Phillies Preseason Top Prospects 2017
___________________________________________
1 (#3 in MLB): J.P Crawford SS
All Round Crawford is a solid player. He doesn't excel in anything but at 22 years old he has time to figure that out. He will get an opportunity to win the starting shortstop job in spring training over teammate Freddy Galvis

2 (#26 in MLB) Jorge Alfaro C
Alfaro at times struggles with plate discipline and could learn to take more walks but has decent power. What he is really good at it's fielding. He looks like he could one of the best fielding catchers someday and already has a cannon for an arm making it hard to steal on him. He too looks to win a starting spot for opening day

3: Mickey Moniak OF
The 1st overall pick in the 2015 draft looks like he's a future superstar. He can just flat out hit, he's a good fielder and fast. It looks as if he'll start in AA ball this year but we could see him in the majors in a year or two. Keep in mind he's only 19 years old

4: Jake Thompson SP
Jake Thompson struggled in 10 starts in 2016 posting a 5.70 ERA 52.3 IP, but before that he was dominant in AAA. We haven't lost hope in him and would like to see him bounce back. He will get a chance to win a rotation spot in spring training if he pitches well.

5: Nick Williams OF
Williams looks like he'll be a very good major league hitter with some power. Solid fielder and some speed too. Should be a good player
___________________________________________
6: Dylan Cozens OF
Now this is where it gets fun. If you like home runs this is the place to look. Cozens hit over 40 HRs in AA last season and will get an invite to spring training
___________________________________________
7: Rhys Hoskins 1B
The second part of the Bash Brothers (Hoskins and Cozens). Rhys also hit over 40 bombs in AA and will join his "brother" in spring training
___________________________________________
8: Roman Quinn OF
He's fast. Very fast. This man will steal a lot of bases in his career. He looks like the lead off man of the future for the Phillies
___________________________________________
9: Scott Kingery 2B
Although he did no receive a invite to spring training, Kingery is Philadelphia's top 2B prospect. He as speed and is a solid hitter. Could be a starter in a few years
___________________________________________
10: Zach Eflin SP
Eflin, like Thompson, struggled last year but also like Thompson were looking to give him a far shot to prove himself as a major league pitcher
