Re: Be Bold: A 2018 Philadelphia Phillies Franchise
The Phillies drop game 4 of this series and lose 3 out of 4 games in the series. The Phillies offense couldn't get anything going in this one as they were shutout on 5 hits. The Pirates offense was doing the same until Josh Harrison singled home a run in the 7th which was all they needed to shut the door on the Phillies. The homestand continues with a 3 game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Re: Be Bold: A 2018 Philadelphia Phillies Franchise
The Phillies take game 1 of this series against the Diamondbacks. It was a pitcher's duel for 6 innings as both Vince Velasquez and Robbie Ray pitched very well. Both starters had excellent curveballs in this game. The offense finally broke through in the 7th as Aaron Altherr hit his first home run of the season. Then in the 8th inning, Odubel Herrera connected on a 2-run shot against Randall Delgado. Phillies pitching was excellent in this game.

Re: Be Bold: A 2018 Philadelphia Phillies Franchise
The Phillies take game 2 of the series against the Diamondbacks. Jerad Eickhoff finally pitched a quality start for the first time in his 5 starts this season. He was very good aside from allowing two 1st inning home runs. This was exactly the type of start Eickhoff needed to gain back some confidence. Carlos Santana went deep for his 6th home run and Odubel Herrera contributed an RBI double while also scoring the winning run on a wild pitch. Hector Neris continued his string of success and locked down his 3rd save of the season. The finale of this series is tomorrow afternoon as Ben Lively faces off against Taijuan Walker. It's Throwback Thursday tomorrow as the Phillies will once again don the old powder blue uniforms.

Re: Be Bold: A 2018 Philadelphia Phillies Franchise
The Phillies drop game 3 of this series to the Diamondbacks but take 2 of 3 in the series. The Phillies fought back from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game late. However, they couldn't push across that go-ahead run and the bullpen eventually gave up the lead in extra innings. David Peralta had the big hit for the Diamondbacks crushing a 2-run home run off Adam Morgan in the 10th. Ben Lively was not sharp in this one pitching only 4 innings and allowing 4 runs and 3 walks. The Phillies hope to get back in the win column beginning tomorrow as they finish off the homestand with a 3 game series against the Atlanta Braves. Jake Arrieta will be on the mound with a chance to get the Phillies the win.

Re: Be Bold: A 2018 Philadelphia Phillies Franchise
The Phillies drop game 1 of this 3 games series to the Braves. Jake Arrieta pitched outstanding but it was not enough to get the victory. The Phillies tied the game late on a Carlos Santana RBI double to send the game to extra innings. However, Kurt Suzuki would hit a home run in the top of the 10th inning that was the deciding run in this one. Nick Williams, who has cooled off recently, left the game early with a minor injury. He was diagnosed with a pulled groin after diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt. He is listed as day-to-day and will avoid time on the DL. 4 of the next 5 games will see the Phillies face left-handed starting pitchers so this is a good time for Williams to get some rest anyway. Game 2 of this series is tomorrow on MLB Network as Aaron Nola takes the ball for the Phillies to face Sean Newcomb.
Re: Be Bold: A 2018 Philadelphia Phillies Franchise
The Phillies take game 2 against the Braves with a very nice come-from-behind victory. Aaron Nola served up a 2-run home run to Freddie Freeman in the 1st inning but then settled in nicely. Nola has been off to a slow start this season but this game was a step in the right direction for him. Odubel Herrera tied up the game at 2 in the 6th inning with a solo home run. Also in the 6th inning, Scott Kingery put the Phillies ahead with a 2-run home run. In the 8th inning, the bullpen let the lead slip away allowing 3 runs to score. It wouldn't last long however, as Aaron Altherr hit a bases loaded double to score 3 runs. Hector Neris pitched a clean 9th inning for his 4th save of the season. Game 3 is tomorrow afternoon as Vince Velasquez takes on Luiz Gohara. After the game, the Phillies hit the road for 6 games in Miami and Washington D.C.
