Pirates getting short at OF

It is June 24th on the Show 22 beautiful franchise world.

Out of a (simmed) game in Tampa Bay the Pirates suffered another injury with outfielder Greg Allen suffering a broken arm. He is out for a couple of months and is move dto the 10 days Injured List.

Allen joins a pretty busy injury report especially for outfielders.

Pirates minor league is now short of players with major league experience in their minor league system. After considreing calling up a few prospects we decided to not do so given th role in Major is a depth role. Instead Pirates signed Taylor Motter a journeyman utility player who appeared in 158 games and joins his 5th Major league organisation in Pittsburgh.

2022 All Star week update

It is the all star week, and two Pirates have been selected for the all star:

27 years old RHP David Bednar, used as closer this season he has secured 22 saves with 5 blown saves. He is one of the very few relievers in the roster that has the required stuff at Major League level: 1.14 WHIP, 11.8 K/9, 2.27 ERA and 1.61 FIP he is indeed having a solid season with Pirates controlling his future for the next 4 seasons.

27 years old Bryan Reynolds, the switch hitter has been an every day starter at center field and holding the prestigious 3rd spot of the lineup. Gis contribution at the bat is pretty solid confirmed by a .885 OPS. Subject to multiple trade offers he is still under arbitrage for the next two seasons and wont go anywhere.
