Agreed, that roster looks amazing -- and you're going "coach" mode. I look forward to seeing what you can do.

Almost seems like the Gents should be playing with white gloves on.

Re: Kory Lavin: From Gent to Champion? (CH2K8)

November 21, 2010

Memphis, TN - Kory Lavin, the new head coach for Centenary, could not have asked for a tougher debut. Even though the coach on the other bench is six years younger, he has an infinitely better team at every aspect of the game.

Kory Lavin inherited arguably the worst team in the nation. The Gents were 8-21 last season but they also lost their 4 out of their 5 top scorers who averaged 42.8 out of their 70.9 points.

Memphis on the other hand is a very young and energetic team led by Wesley Witherspoon.

Any hopes of a huge upset against the #7 team in the nation were thrown out of the window in about 5 minutes.

Memphis scored everywhere on offense: In the paint, mid-range, at the line, and especially the 3 point line.

At halftime Memphis had a commanding 51-30 lead over Lavin's Gentlemen. November 21, 2010

At halftime Memphis had a commanding 51-30 lead over Lavin's Gentlemen.

"They played like a top 10 team today. I never really understood what I was getting into when I started coaching in the NCAA but trust me, now I know," said Lavin.

It also helped that Memphis had their sixth man, Charles Carmouche, had 31 points going 11-11 (8-8 from 3)

"We just couldn't stop him," said Tubner (Gents guard), "He just hit everything he threw up. If I wasn't playing against him, I probably would have been going nuts watching him."

After the buzzer finally sounded at the end of the game, the scored show Memphis winning 86-55.

Honestly this team is so bad, that UMES on the original rosters would murder this team.
(Sorry I messed up on the write-up. Won't happen again)

TIDAL WAVE HITS THE GENTS BY THE GREEN WAVE

November 19, 2010

New Orleans, LA - Both Centenary and Tulane are predicted to be at the bottom of their respective conferences. So the question is, who is the real bottomfeeder?

Well if you wondered, you only had to watch the first half.

"Positives? I didn't know that there was a positive in this game. I'm not one to talk about moral victories or any of that other bs. If you want a positive, 3 of our players got in double figures. Whoopee," stated a firy coach Lavin.

Usually there is at least one statistic that one team win or lose can say, "Hey we at least did better at this stat...". Problem is, Tulane won at every statistic down to free throw%.

"I feel like we just had no rhythm whatsoever. We couldn't hit shots, couldn't play D, couldn't rebound," said Gents guard, Nakwaasah, "It was just horrible."

Tulane started off a little weak and the first 10 minutes, it was locked up. But then the Green Wave started clicking and put on the cruise control to take a victory over Centenary 77-42.

Re: Kory Lavin: From Gent to Champion? (CH2K8)

Just thought I'd let you guys know I didn't abandon this legacy but I just haven't been posting. It's been a real bad season so I didn't feel like embarrasing myself over and over again on these posts. But I DID finish my first season and when I get a chance (later tonight?) I will post the results and what not. I'm in the second season now so I don't have the stats but I have the basics of what happened.
