PORTLAND-Mins(FG)P-R-A

N.Smith-20 (5/9), 12-0-6
JJ.Barea-21 (8/10), 27-1-2

**Portland came out early was up 7-0 and never looked back. One sour note, their #1 overall pick OJ Hodges injured his back out 1-2 weeks, Crappy time for him to go down he had 3 points in 3 minutes, Hurt his back after coming down from a made 3 pointer, he was 1/2 shooting with 3 points and 1 rebound, he will be back before the regular season, Barea huge off the bench trying to earn PT had 27, Nolan Smith sees that Portland doesnt have a legit go to PG he is trying to earn that spot.... Chances are he will start next game with Crawford at the 2, look for alot of lineup changes during the pre season, some starters may even sit out a couple games....

*Everyone got decent playing time as the pre season is mainly looking at what is out there in the young players and backups, alot of guys scored 6 points, Atlanta looks good with the addition of Odom and Gortat. Portland has 2 days off and then its a game against the Knicks...

Blazers looking for wake up call after 0-3 start and back to back scoring games in the 70's, Blazers have been out rebounded in the last 3 games, large part of that is shooting a lower % and allowing the other team to get the defensive rebounds, Portland hung around a few times in the game but Clippers kept pulling away, Portland went flat in the 1rst and 4th quarters, not helping there cause, Up next for the 0-3 Blazers, is another matchup with Minnesota, this time on the road... The 2 played in their first games of the season, in Portland with Minnesota winning 123-107.

It will be the final game of a short 3 game road trip, and then they go home for 4, 3 of those games are very win able games, NO,DET,TOR.. the tough one is the 4th home game of that span, against Chicago,

Portland gets first win of the season behind Aldridges 32, Jeremy Lin chipped in with 23 points but only 3 assist, #1 overall pick OJ Hodges startred rough but ended alil smoother, he had14 pts and 6 rebounds. Thats the 2nd time in the last or so that these 2 teams played, They met in the opener of the season for both teams.. Minnesota won that one at the Rose Garden 123-107, Looks like Portlands defense and offsense stepped up on this day.. Blazers are now 1-3.

GAME 5 Vs New Orleans Hornets
Coach Mode first 30 minutes
Simulate the Last 18 minutes
(I used a random number selector to find out how many minutes i coached the game before simming it, I had the numbers go from 12 to 36, So atleast the first qtr at minimum would be coached, and at max the first 3 quarters (36 min)

What a sloppy low scoring game.. Aldridge was off, Hodges is still alil down in his shooting, the bench needs to step up alil more.. There are some bench guys who may lose some minutes that are not playing well, and those minutes will go to the guys who are performing, I do like using the random number selector to find out b4 each game how many minutes i will coach mode, a minimum of 12 minutes and max of 36

This page was a recap of the first 5 games... Now i will start a new page for the next 5 games...

Ugh my team needs to shoot better when im coaching the game, Tired of always falling behind by 10-13 points. Luckily the Hornets shot bad that last game.. I up'd all my shooting success to 50, see how that works next game.. the CPU is at 46.

This game was fully played, on coach mode, the only thing i noticed was a lack in passing but maybe i can turn up off awareness or tempo, the shooting % wasn't to bad, im not going to rasie the opponents cause i think Toronto isnt a good shooting team anyways, I play Chicago next maybe ill fully do that one to and see how it turns out,

One thing i do like about playing the full game. is if someone is playing bad i can take them out sooner, and the sim wont give him the minutes i have on the rotation, automatically, or if someone is playing good ill leave them in there, kinda like Murphy did tonight, a double double off the bench....I have no idea why my #1 overall pick is shooting so bad, his outside and inside shooting grade is a B
==========================================

GAME 8 Vs Chicago Bulls
I coach mode the entire game...and ouch another blow out, i dunno if its my team just not that good, with solid shooters, or the Bulls defense, there was times we were on fire but then went into slumps shooting, and wow talk about the refs favoring the Bulls on the free throws, we had 4 all game, and i was attacking the hoop to, or should i say making the guys, since i coached, Aldridge had a few inside shots but nothing was being called for us, we couldnt keep up with them in 3's, Im not going to stop playing full games after just 2, all the other stats seemed pretty real. other then the free throws, the shooting was not bad, but i may up the shots made slider one point, for us, the cpu is shooting fine to me... turnovers may be a tad low still but all in all seems like ok stats, i just want to get as much realism as i can, next up Indiana, and they are rated 1 point below us..... but its on the road...and is it time to bench my #1 overall pick, he still is shooting bad i dunno why.. and talk about Elliot Williams coming off the bench in his first game this season since coming up from the D league, 18 pts, Tavcar is the 17th overall pick, our rookie PG, Nolan Smith and Timofey Mozgov got sent to the D league, and JJ was benched this game for missing his last 11 shots........

GAME 9 @ Indiana Pacers
Coach Mode all game.....

Blazers lose in a nail biter 86-84. Despite the Pacers bad 4th qtr shooting, Portland also had chances to put it away but couldnt hit late shots, Struggling Rookie SG OJ Hodges did hit a game tying 3 pointer only Portlands 2nd of the game, with about 19 seconds left, Nash who was 0-10 in some crazy way, Still managed to win the game as he drew a foul with 5 seconds to go and hit 2 free throws, And for some reason Aldridge ended up taking the final shot for a 3 to win and missed, That would be my fault i should have put in 3 point shooters when i called the timeout after Nashes 2 freethrows. This game was back and forth, the Pacers largest lead was in the 3rd, by 9, Portland biggest lead was 7.

New Blazer Sebastian Telfair didnt make his return to Portland a very bright one, going 1-11, and 0-6 from downtown, which is weird since Telfair is a A in outside shooting. It was a rebounders night though, Ibaka had 14 and Hickson 16, Now Portland must brush it off and play the very next night at Cleveland, The Cavs also played tonight to so both teams will be playing a 2nd night of a back to back, Blazers drop to 3-6, Starting PG Jeremy Lin went down in the 2nd qtr with a back injury and is listed as out for 1-2 weeks...

Re: RIP CITY-Portland Trail Blazers

GAMES 11-15

GAME 11 @ Atlanta Hawks
Coach Mode all game.

Hawks pulled away in the 4th, As Blazers went cold, Coach Henry messed around alil with the lineup, in the 2nd half he started Gee at SF moved Aldridge to PF, and started Telfair at PG, rumor has it JJ Hickson may move to the bench as a 6th man, and Gee will start at SF, they like his athleticism, and he has been showing promise in games where he gets quality minutes, Blazers still need another scoring punch other the L.A, Ibaka had a career high 23 but that wont happen all the time, Portland is right now not seeking anymore trades at the moment, the rotation however may get cut down to 9, there have been 10-11 playing every night. Blazers drop to 4-7 and face the Pistons next who are off to a good start at 7-3, Pistons center Greg Monroe has been a Blazer killer in the past few games...

GAME 12 @ Detroit Pistons
Coach Mode all game.

Pistons rock Portland again.. shoot a blazing 57%, seemed like every shot they threw up went in, I did up the shot made sliders a tad after the last few games both teams were not shooting to great, and scoring low most of the time, hopefully this was just a good night for the CPU and that this wont be a trend against all good teams, Ill play another game this next one is at home, and ill leave the shooting sliders were they are and see how it turns out..

The Pistons really opened us up in the 3rd ending the Qtr on a 13-0 run, Portland shot 48% which is about what im looking for, i dont mind the off nights or the red hot nights but it would be nice to start winning a few more games, but i wont give up on full played games yet... Next is at home vs Utah who is also 4-8...but their rated 81 overall and we are 76 but that will go up once Lin comes back, however he will miss the Utah game also.. the starting lineup will not change as both Telfair and Gee showed some good stuff in the last game...

GAME 13 Vs Utah Jazz
coach mode the entire game

Blazers come up short in wild OT game, another one gets away from the Blazers. Poor shooting by both teams, all night long, 4th qtr comes around and Blazers went ice cold at one point 2-10 as the Jazz were running away with the game, they took a 14 point lead at one point, Blazers came all the way back, Nailed a game tieing 2 with 1.3 seconds left by Hodges, in OT Portland again fell behind, Jazz built a 7 point lead, but again Portland came storming back, Hodges tried playing hero again but is shot as time expired in OT went in and out.. Utah pulling off the win, And the Blazers left empty handed again..... To many times Portland has been shooting cold and leaving themselves chances to pull away but cant, Blazers have the next 2 days off and then its off to Memphis and then Orlando to end the month. Portland is now 4-9 another slow start.......And this was a game of steals for sure, more then i have seen before in any other game, just one of those nights..

(im starting to get alil irritated with this game, Im losing alot of games i probably would be winning if i simmed them and just adjusted the minutes, as to who i want playing, like the other teams do during the season their games just get simmed, I have a better team then 4-9) so we will see how long i keep playing full games b4 going back to playing parts of it and then simming the rest, I dont understand the poor shooting all the time, my shot slider success for my team is all above 50's on all them)

GAME 14 @ Memphis Grizzlies

Blazers PG Jeremy Lin returned to the lineup after missing the last 4 games, But Portland came up short again, another let down 3rd qtr nailed it in, Portland did make a strong comeback in the 4th, down by only 4 but then they went cold, missing their next 4 shots, Lin turned the ball over 7 times in the game and 2 times in the final 2 possessions, very frustrating when trying to come back, Portland got hammered in the 3rd 36-22. Lately they have been giving up games in the 3rd qtr, Just last game they were outscored in the 3rd 22-15 and the game before that, 35-21 to the Pistons. Blazers have dropped 4 in a row and left fans scratching their heads, 2 times in the game Portland was up 10 but could not hang on.

The shooting % for both teams is starting to get better, Portland also got pounded at the free throw line, not only in attempts but %, Memphiswas 24/38 while Portland was just 7-15, making on 46% of there free throws, Hodges who was a 90% shooter at the line went 1/5 between that and the 3rd quarter, u just cant win games by doing that, Zach Randolph did not play for Memphis, Up next for the Blazers is a trip to Orlando..

I think next game ill go back to the random minute generator set up, where i go to this site that randomly picks a #, I have it set for 12-36 so i have to at least play the first qtr on coach mode and the max ill play is 36 mins the first 3 qtrs, i did this earlier in the season, ill randomly find a # that it comes up with and thats how many minutes i have to coach mode the game for.. b4 simulating the rest, It can be alil tricky as i have to watch out for not playing a starter to much and then he hardly plays when i sim, cause the sim gives the players the minutes based off how many u have set in the rotation, and i dont wanna play a bench player to much and then they hardly play in the sim.... Only downside to this is someone could be having a good game off the bench but then may not play alot in the sim if i keep him in while he is playing good, But thats what kinda makes it a challenge, Ill go back to this for the Orlando game,

GAME 15 @ Orlando Magic
Coach Mode first 29 minutes
Simulate last 19 minutes

Blazers blown out in Orlando by 35, streak reaches 5 in a row, This game wasnt coached moded all the way through, I used a random number picker online and choose between numbers 16 through 30, so i would coach the minimum first qtr and 6 mins into the 2nd, or the max 5 minutes past half time, it came out to 29 mins of coach mode, so i stopped the game with 7 mins left in the 3rd down by 9 and it got worse after the sim, and again another dreadful 3rd quarter, Orlando jumped out 15-4 in the first 5 minutes, ouch, Orlando kept the pedal to the floor and outscored Portland 71-34 in the 2nd half. Aldridge had 21 at half ended with 29 still not a bad night, Rookie #1 overall pick OJ Hodges twisted his ankle and still played in the game, 30 minutes but it showed that he wasnt 100% with just 5 points and nothing else.. Portland falls to 4-11 but will not stop battling.. 3 Magic players scored over 20 points, Howard had a 20-20 night going 26 and 20, In the first half Portland shot very well, 54% to Orlandos 45%, But Portland went ice cold in the 2nd half, shooting 30% in the 2nd half ending with a 41% shooting, about where they are for a average this season, Orlando ended the game shooting 54%. that ends the month of November, maybe December will be better.. up next back home against Indiana..
