Blazers trade Matthews to Minnesota

Today the Portland trail blazers traded Wesley Matthews to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland GM Chad Buchanan couldn't be reached on the matter the deal is as follows

Portland Get: Wesley Johnson, Anthony Tolliver
Minnesota Get: Wesley Matthews, Blazers 2nd round pick (2012)

In other news Shawne Williams has suffered a strained abdomen and is out for 2-4 weeks.

Heat Destory blazers.
Comming off a big overtime win vs houston a couple of nights ago, hopes were high for portland as they travelled to face the heat. Those thoughts of optimism were quickly erased as portland struggled to score and defense was not a strong point on this night for the portland ball club either. The Heat had this one wrapped up rather early giving LeBron some time off in the 4th, but kept dwayne wade on the floor. adding insult to injury for portland Jamal Crawford was injured in the 3rd quarter. After the game portland announced they would waive anthony Tolliver and sign sherron collins for a brief stint with the team.

Blazers too much for Magic
It definitely was not the sort of game you would expect from a team that is on a back to back and their 3rd game in 4 nights, but on Thursday Portland completely ran over the top of the orlando magic in a rather crushing victory for the blazers. The usual suspects continued for the blazers, but a pleasant surprise for portland is the impressive play of rookie guard Nolan Smith, who chipped away with 6 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
