Re: 2011-2012 Season Recap

2011-2012 Season Re-signings and Trades

With Trail Blazers we had a few key pieces for the future in Aldridge and Batum but we needed to look at future and be able to contend for the 2012-13 season. Other Teams as you will see were very active in the season trading players.

Trades

Trail Blazers trade PG Raymond Felton to Denver for 2012 1st and 2nd Round picks

Trail Blazers trade SG Wesley Matthews and C Kurt Thomas to Cleveland for SF
Alonzo Gee

Trail Blazers trade SF Luke Babbit and 2013 1st round pick to Houston for SF Chandler Parsons and 2012 1st round pick

Trail Blazers trade SF Shawne Williams and SG Elliot Willaims to Pistons for C Ben Wallace and SG Damien Wilkins

Trail Blazers trade PG Nolan Smith (3rd PG) to Golden State for 2012 1st round pick and PF Vladimir Radmanovic

With those moves I was able to clear cap for the upcoming free Agency period and draft

Re: Blazing the future : A Trail Blazers Association

BLAZERS GET TALENT!

After a wild free agency period this off-season, teams are completing their rosters in preparation for the upcoming season.

Portland Lands CP3

Only a few minutes ago, the Portland Trail Blazers and Chris Paul agreed to a 5/98.8 million dollar deal. Paul will now become the centerpiece of the Blazers and the heart of Trail Blazer nation. Paul will now get the chance to play with Lamarcus Aldridge and rookies Austin Rivers, Thomas Robinson, Festus Ezeli and Damian Lilliard. Paul is very excited at the opportunity, " we have a good young nucleus here and we should be one of the top contenders this year."

Blazers add 3 more to core

The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to principle with SG J.R. Smith, SF Daniel Green and C Omer Asik. The Blazers continue to add talent in order to contend with some of the bigger superteams in the NBA. Smith jumped at the chance to play with CP3, " I have always wanted to play with Chris and the opportunity here in portland was a great one". Smith agreed to a 4 year deal worth just over 30 million. Youngster Daniel Green also signed a 3 year deal worth 10.33 million. Green is expected to be a key player off the bench. Omer Asik signed a 3 year deal worth 8 million. Asik is expected to contribute off the bench and provide good minutes.

Around the League

PG Jeremy Lin signed a 4 year deal with the Rockets for 38.2 million

PG Gilbert Arenas inked a deal with the Raptors for 5 years and 52 million

SF Nic Batum inked a 4 year deal with the Cavs for 38.66 million

SG Shannon Brown (3/13.4), SG Delonte West (4/17.86) and PF Kenyon Martin (3/5.74) inked deals with the Knicks

PG Ray Felton signed a 5/12.5 contract with Denver
