Florida A&M Defeats Colorado In Season Opener At Home
Release:*Thursday*11/15/2012*(ET)
by Florida A&M Sports Information

TALLAHASSEE, FL (Nov. 15,2012) - The Florida A&M Rattlers have won their first season opener against power conference Big 12's Colorado in a game where Colorado never took the lead in our own Teaching Gym.

Tonight was also coach Desmond Hunt's season debut as the Rattler's basketball head coach and we are definitely thrilled with this performance from the sideline. This was a game of many contributions for the Rattler's as every player on their 11 man roster scorer at least 1 point. The key player in this game was junior guard Reggie Lewis who shot over 50% beyond the three point line aswell from the total field. He finished the game with 19 points (10 in first half).

Coach Hunt spoke out about the team's performance at the team's press conference...
Quote:
"I just want our roster to play as an complete team because that's exactly how you win games. I told everyone on this team to throw about last year's memories and start from a new page and that's going to lead us to success."

This was a game dominated by FAMU from just about start to finish. They were able to put up 33 to Colorado's 26 in the first half and just topped the game in the closing minutes as Colorado stayed in the game and attempted but failed to achieve a comeback.

The Buffalo's were lead by Andre Robertson as he recorded a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists. However the Rattler's were able to drastically slow him down as he finished with a career high turnover game with 8.
The Buffalo's struggled from the field this game and ended up finishing the game up shooting 34% from the field and 30% from the three point line. They also did not secure the ball very well (22 turnovers) and couldn't stop making contact with the Rattler's driving to the hoop.

Florida A&M Upsets #2 Wisconsin In Their Own Arena!

Release: Friday 11/16/2012
by Florida A&M Sports Information

TALLAHASSEE, FL (Nov. 16,2012) - Florida A&M has posted their second win in back to back games and it's the first time in over ten years the Rattler's have won their first two basketball games.
The key player in this game had the Rattler's guard, Jamie Adams, who led both teams in scoring and led Florida A&M to this huge win. This was a key game showcasing Desmond Hunt's new team system and brings many questions up on how far he can take A&M.

The Rattlers had the Wisconsin crowd silent as they came on the Kohl Center and went on a 10-0 run to begin the game. However Wisconsin quickly made a little comeback but still couldn't stop the Rattler's epic high pace basketball game.

Florida A&M for the most part play'd zone this entire game and later at the post-game conference head coach Desmond Hunt said -

Quote:
"Hey, if they want to shoot three's all game then that's no problem. They'll make some but key word is "Some"."
Wisconsin's Ben Brust came into the second half hot and instantly buried two straight three's but that was going towards bringing Wisconsin back up because the second half ended 33-25. Eventually Wisconsin continued to have a great half but much like the beginning of this game, Wisconsin just couldn't stop the Rattler's Jamie Adams.

With time winding down Wisconsin made their #1 option Jared Berggren but center Markee Teal just wasn't having it and held Berggren (19 PPG This Season) to 11 points on 35% shooting.

This game marks the 7th lost for the AP 25 teams and puts Florida A&M at 2-0.

Final Score
63-59

Florida A&M Tops Savannah St. - Third Straight Win - 70-41
Release: Saturday 11/17/2012
by Florida A&M Sports Information

TALLAHASSEE, FL (Nov. 15,2012) - The Savannah State Tigers basketball team couldn't keep pace with the red hot Florida A&M Rattlers as they were blown out 70-41 at the Teaching Gym in Tallahassee.

The Rattlers couldn't be denied and the key players of this game where Florida A&M's two dynamic guards, Jamie Adams and Reggie Lewis who combined for 33 points and 7 assists.
FAMU (3-0, 0-0) Had two players with +10 point performances
SSU (2-2, 0-0) Had 1 player with a +10 performance

Quote:
"Our defense won this game." says head coach Desmond Hunt.
The Rattlers forced Savannah State to have to settle with tough shots the entire game and the result was 26% shooting and 8% from beyond the arc.

Savannah State's head coach Horace Broadnax voiced his opinion on his team's performance tonight as was clearly disappointed and many times brought up the fact that 3 out of 5 players in his starting lineup got into very early foul trouble and weren't able to play over 20 minutes forcing the Tigers to use their bench who honestly play'd terrible.

Final Score 70-41
