Lakers bring different attitude and demeanor to the table, defeat Rockets again
Bryant and Howard combine for 66 as Lakers show no nonsense attitude in game

HOUSTON - It seems as if the rest of the team got the message that Kobe Bryant sent out following the Lakers loss on Sunday night against the Nuggets.  Bryant called the next three games a gut check for this team and a test to see if they are championship worthy contenders or pretenders.  Stepping onto the court in Houston the Lakers had a different tone about them, their attitude was different.  It was as if they had cloned Kobe Bryant's killer instinct and sheer will to win and did 12 transplants before the game.  Dwight Howard was not all smiles and giggles, infact he did not smile once throughtout the entire game.  The message was received loud and clear and Kobe Bryant himself led the charge as the Lakers snapped a two game losing streak with a 109-93 victory over the Rockets, their third win of the season against Houston.  Bryant finished with a game high 39 points, hitting an impressive 15-22 shots from the field and dished out 7 assists and was active defenisvely collecting 4 steals.  Dwight Howard was just as efficient, hitting 14-20 shots from the field en route to 29 points and 7 rebounds along with 2 block shots.  Bryant and Howard combined to score 66 points, more then half the teams total for the game.  Both Steve Nash and Earl Clark rounded up the Lakers who scored in double figures, both having 10 points apiece.  The Rockets had a rough first quarter, only scoring 10 points and couldn't seem to get any type of flow during the game, a game that coach Kevin McHale said the Rockets needed just from a confidence point of view against a team as talented as the Lakers.  James Harden led the Rockets with a team high 15 point, but could not find his shot, finishing 6-16 from the field and 1-6 from the three point line.  Patrick Patterson added 13 points and Omer Asik had a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.  For the Rockets, it was the their third loss in the last four games, dropping them down to third place behind the Spurs and Hornets.  The Lakers (22-12) jumped right on a plane after the game for a short flight to get into San Antonio early for a good night sleep before the second game of their back-to-back Texas road trip.  The Spurs hold the leagues best record and are the currently atop the Western Conference, however, the Lakers and Spurs met earlier in November where the Lakers provailed 94-88.

Lakers able to grind out victory in San Antonio to sweep two game road trip
The Los Angeles Lakers have not played that many important games this season, but on the second night of a back-to-back short two game road trip through Texas to play the San Antonio Spurs, everyone viewed this a the most important game for the Lakers so far this season. The San Antonio Spurs have just simply been a symbol of excellence under Gregg Poppovich, winning four championships, and going toe to toe with the Los Angeles Lakers for nearly a decade now for Western Conference supremacy. So far this season all the Spurs have done is have the best record in the league, coming into the game 28-9 while the Lakers got a much needed victory the previous day in Houston and were looking to sweep their brief Texas trip. Infront of a soldout AT&T Center, the Lakers and Spurs methodically went at each other and it was not a game dominated by offense as both teams hung their hat on the defensive end and when the dust settled, the Lakers stood victorious with an 80-76 victory over the Spurs, their second win against San Antonio this season, having defeated them back in November, 94-88 at STAPLES. Kobe Bryant who has become somewhat more aggressive on the offensive end the past few games led the Lakers with a game high 28 points while grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists. Dwight Howard recorded another double double this season with 19 points and 10 rebounds along with 3 block shots and Steve Nash dished out a game high 13 assists. For those who like a fast pace, run and gun style game, this was not the one for you as both teams hounded eachother on both ends defensively, but in the third quarter it seemed as if both teams found their niche, but it didn't last. Tied up at halftime, 34-34, the Lakers outscored the Spurs 29-25 in the third quarter which proved to be enough to get the win, but the Lakers as a team finished the game shooting 28-78 from the field (35 percent) while the Spurs finished 28-76 (36 percent) from the field for the game. The Spurs however got some of the most disappointing performances from their stars with this being such a big conference game. Tim Duncan finished the game with just 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, but took only eleven shots the whole game. Point guard Tony Parker had only 11 points while dishing out 9 assists, but was 4-13 shooting from the field. The only other Spur play to reach double digit points was Danny Green who the led the Spurs with 14 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. Manu Ginobili had only 9 points in the game while second year forward Kawahi Leonard, one of the Spurs biggest and brighest rising stars was held to 4 points, going 1-11 from the field including 1-6 from the three point line. The win improved the Lakers to 23-12 overall and gave them some much needed momentum and confidence for their matchup on Friday night at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Lakers latest victory over Thunder may have shown that power has shifted

Returning home following a two game road trip in Texas, the Los Angeles Lakers seemed to have heeded the message from their leader Kobe Bryant and have taken a little more seriousness tone the last two games and it wasn't going to be a walk in the park for the Lakers as they hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder and try to avenge their first meeting of the season where the Thunder came away with a one point victory.  Still without Paul Gasol and Jodie Meeks, the Lakers once again counted on the duo of Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard to set the tone of the game early and the Thunder, who have been going through a slump the last few weeks looked more like a team that was unsure of themselves and the Lakers used it to their advantage to win their third straight and get their first win over the Thunder since last years playoffs with a 101-86 win.  Dwight Howard finished with a game high 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked 5 shots, continuing his dominance on the defensive side of the ball.  Kobe Bryant also recorded a double double, finishing with 20 points and pulling down 10 rebounds and was active as well defensively, collecting 4 steals.  Metta World Peace added 16 points and off the bench Jordan Hill had 14 points and 6 rebounds while Antawn Jamison added 12 points.  For the Thunder it was another disappointing game as it seems like they are not clicking like they expected to following the James Harden trade the day before the season started.  Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with a team high 18 point, but was 7-22 from the field and 0-6 from behind the three point line.  Serge Ibaka also finished with 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Kevin Durant struggled during the game, only hitting 5-15 shots from the field and scored only 12 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.  No other Thunder player reached double figures.  For the Lakers it was another solid gameplan they came out with and executed and got off on the right foot to begin this four game homestand.  The Lakers will host Cleveland on Sunday when the Cavaliers make their yearly appearance then will face the Milwaukee Bucks and wrap up the homestand next Thursday against the Heat.

I love what you're doing!

Where are you getting the images for your Game Previews and Recaps? Are you just editing the OS Tables?

I'm glad you guys like the different styled layouts. Breaking news: I purchased REDITOR this past weekend and bought the tabs necessary to edit and input information into association files so I will be returing to square one again as I have been working the last two days on my association file template and am just about done and I will be unleashing and starting the most Authentic and most In Depth Association mode anyone has attempted to do. You ask what makes it so in depth and different well because I have successfully made a head coaches and assistant coaches free agent pool that holds 30 head coaching candidates and 30 assistant coaching candidates, all of them real life current and former coaches of both areas. I have given some of the top assistants special consideration and have included them in the head coaches pool while keeping them assigned to their current position with their current team. I have also included former players that might have recently retired and expressed interest in coaching in the assistant coaches pool. I will be posting a short detailed blog post later on that you can continue to read about the added features.
