NBA Rumors: Greg Smith on his way out?

Detroit forward Greg Smith is the first Pistons player this season to request a trade.

Smith made it known publicly on Dec. 1, in a recent press conference after the Pistons' rout of the New York Knicks.

"Yeah, it's true I want to be traded. The team is running hot right now, but many want to see me in another jersey, especially the fans over here. I think it's best to trade me if you can."

Smith spoke the truth, stating the fans aren't really simpatico with him right now. The fans clearly aren't very fond of him, and GM Isiah Thomas wants a team the fans can love.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope shines against the Knicks, scoring 27 points off the bench. With Iman Shumpert struggling, coach Mo Cheeks decided to try second-year player Caldwell-Pope to try and erase the early deficit. The decision worked out mightily, as KCP set a new career high in points.

*Andre Drummond did not play today, as he is nursing a sprained ankle and is currently day-to-day. Mitch McGary started in his place.*

Report: Detroit to drop Chris Douglas-Roberts for Darius Miller

Once again, Detroit has released another failed test. After dropping Chris Douglas-Roberts due to inefficiency, Detroit is now trying former Pelicans forward Darius Miller.

Here are Detroit's list of failed attempts (So far):

Wesley Johnson (released due to lack of PT)

James Johnson (Bad fit)

...and now:

Chris Douglas-Roberts (Released due to inefficiency)

Who knows, this can be a good signing for Detroit. You never know...

Isiah Thomas: "Change is coming"

Rookie GM Isiah Thomas is currently doing a great job so far, with the way the Pistons are looking.

He also had something to say when asked about him doing future trades.

"Yeah, I'm gonna be the one who will be tooling the roster to my liking. Unlike Joe D, who usually stuck with players heading into the deadline, I'm gonna see what kinds of offers we can get at the time."

The media also asked him about the current state of the team and what he hopes to do as GM.

"The team is doing well, aside from a few chemistry problems. Iman Shumpert isn't really happy, but that's in part due to a decrease in touches. As for what I'd like to accomplish, is that I want this city to become the City of Champions once again, as well as solidify this team as an annual contender for the NBA title."

These are some big comments coming from a GM who has gotten here just a couple of months ago, but Zeke is determined to reach his goals.

*Iman walks into Thomas's office.*

"Ah, Iman, here, have a seat."

Iman took at seat at the comfy chair, and started.

"Look, I know how the state of the team is right now."

Isiah sat back, listening.

"Right now, things aren't going well for me, especially with my teammates. They all seem to act differently around me."

Isiah nodded.

"Iman, that's ridiculous. Our team gets along with each other fine."

"Yeah, but not with me."

"Well, what do you want me to do about it?"

Iman stood up.

"I want you to trade me. I don't think I can stay in Detroit any longer."

Thomas was surprised at his reply. He has just gotten here, and somehow he already wants to get traded. However, he just sat back down.

"Are you sure about this? There's no going back after you decide."

"Yes, I am sure. I think it's best for us to part ways."

"Well, I'll start making calls."

Thomas picks up the phone, and starts dialing.

I would take the Green-trade, because I think he would be some kind of franchise player for you and the price is really okay. But I guess you will take Turner, simply because he is the best of the 3.

Donīt know, thought you would get more for Shump.
