Re: Who Needs LeBron? ~ A Miami Heat MyLeague Series (NBA2k15/PS4)
Should Napier be starting over Cole?
It's a question rolling through a lot of Heat fans at the moment as well of course the staff and front office of the Heat. The rookie has been a massive clutch time player late in games with his heat-check ability, which is incredibly impressive for a rookie. But, let's take a look at some stats.
Essentially, Cole is slightly better in points and assists but Napier is more efficient while doing so. It's a lot of responsibility to hand to someone especially a rookie to just sorta run an offense that's 40-22 at the moment. Is he ready to go up against Derrick Rose? Kyrie Irving against the Cavs? I don't know...

Game Recap: Rough back to back losses again.. 4-7 since the all-star break. Rondo dominated the assists, Sullinger dominated the boards... it's just bad. Wade shot a little bit too much for a lot of people's liking but he was the only scorer going all in today.
Around the League:
Bucks have lost 6 in a row.
Mavericks have won 9 in a row, this time a 108-107 win over the Cavaliers.
Spurs have won 11 in a row.

Game Recap: It got quite close late... in fact the Nets had a 104-103 lead with 5 seconds to go when Miami called a timeout but who's counting? Wade was able to break Joe Johnson's ankles and dunked for the game-winner with 1.1 seconds left. An incredible performance by him and he just keeps on proving to those who said he was old and broken, he still got it.
Around the League:
Durant drops 46 as Thunder beat Clippers, 123-113.
Carmelo Anthony dropped a season high 49 points on their victory.
Jazz have lost 6 in a row.

76ers hired interim coach Michael Goodrich.

Game Recap: Losing a very rough one to the Celtics and then you bounce back with 2 very good wins, nice! The Big 3 in the Top 3 for scoring is very good, and with this being the 42nd win, it is officially impossible for the Heat to finish below .500, woo!
Around the League:
Knicks have won 6 in a row.
CJ Watson had a career high 24 points in win.
Marc Gasol and Grizzlies having internal fights, Gasol wants to leave.
Magic have lost 9 in a row.
Wizards are considering a coaching change.
Re: Who Needs LeBron? ~ A Miami Heat MyLeague Series (NBA2k15/PS4)
Heat vs Cavs III
It's Part #3! The Heat vs Cavs have provided some classic matchups this season and both have arguably been Top 5 games this year. But now it's time for part #3, and both teams have been in different phases as of late.
The Cavaliers currently sit at #1 in the Eastern Conference with a record of 50-18... two of those losses have been caused by Miami. They currently hold the best record in the NBA and have been thriving with that Big 3 of LeBron, Love, and Kyrie.
The Heat sit at #3 in the Eastern Conference with a record of 42-23. They're at risk to possibly fall behind the Pacers if they lose a few games and after that you got the likes of the Knicks, Raptors, and Hawks.
Regardless, it's edition #3 of this rivalry.. let's go.

Game Recap: It was seemingly improbable, but the Miami Heat have beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers a whooping 3 times and have not yet been touched... Cleveland has had chances, but nope. The most critical point in the game had to be when Miami had a 101-98 lead with 50 seconds to go... Cleveland ball, LeBron goes baseline and stepped OUT OF BOUNDS! Heat ball, the crowd let LeBron know it, and then Wade hit a MASSIVE 3 to make it 104-98. Cavs got a 3, Wade missed a free throw and made 1 but the game was over. Such a fantastic series, just imagine if this went to the postseason.

Game Recap: Against an incredibly strong Portland Trailblazers team with the likes of Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge.. Nicolas Batum showed up and dominated. But, the heat's offense was mental. Cole and Deng went off for 20+ which was a massive reason, but Wade with 25/5/10 is insanely good. He's really turned from 30 point guy night in and night out to also looking to get Deng and Cole and Bosh involved, great game!

Game Recap: The Heat were on a roll so you knew it had to happen sometime. The 3 ball simply wasn't falling and based on the 32 attempts, they probably would have been much better off settling for 2s and you probably come away with this game fairly easy. To be fair, with 4 seconds to go Shabazz Napier hit yet another clutch 3 to tie up the game for Miami at 97-97, it's a shame a loss happened but hey, the rook's doing his thing.

Game Recap: Title pretty much sums it up. The Thunder are by far the better team as seen by their record of 51-18. The least amount of points the Heat allowed in a quarter was 24... not good enough. It started raining from 3 in the 4th quarter but too little to late. At least Napier showed up again and Westbrook was his inefficient self, hah.
Around the League:
Thunder have won 10 in a row.
Warriors have won 5 in a row.

Game Recap: Ugh... 3 in a row. Not the way you wanna go heading towards the end of March. Jabari Parker took over late and you could tell he wanted this win badly. Even though Milwaukee isn't gonna make the playoffs, they got an exciting core for the fans to watch and look forward to seeing develop. If Jabari Parker can become the Paul Pierce of Milwaukee, you may have yourselves something. On the downside, no one but Wade and Cole showed up.. sigh.

Game Recap: Beating down the Celtics after you've had 3 frustrating losses? I can get use to it, the Celtics have beaten us twice this year by just 1 point, it's nice. Wade and Bosh scoring for a combined 50 points, it's the perfect way to bounce back and you have only 13 games remaining on this seasons schedule... get to 50 wins and beyond!
Around the League:
Thunder have won 12 in a row. (damn)
Tyson Chandler suffered a strained quad but will continue playing.
Jordan Hill is fully healthy.
The Heat will now prepare for the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat also now have a 45-26 record, just 1 win away from meeting their expectation coming into the year!

Re: Who Needs LeBron? ~ A Miami Heat MyLeague Series (NBA2k15/PS4)
Spoelstra: Practice has been cut back significantly
In some interesting news given by Erik Spoelstra last night after Miami's beatdown against the Boston Celtics, Spoelstra was being interviewed when a reporter asked the following question.
Reporter #1: Wade, Bosh, and Deng all haven't missed a game this season. Ray got hurt earlier in the year and now he's back, how have you been managing practice and training with the veteran roster while still having to keep guys like Shabazz and Ennis on pace?
Spo: In all honesty our practices have been cut down quite a bit. This team and this group of guys have been to the playoffs, at this point in the season it gets to a bit of a lull that hits every team. Instead of wearing our guys out they knew what they need to get done and we're focusing on just maintaing our guys at the moment. Napier, Ennis, and the other younger guys are on their separate training schedule that keeps them a bit more active.
Quite an interesting response to say the least, it was followed up by quite an interesting question by another reporter.
Reporter #2: Don't you think that may have had some impact on more and more of the losses you guys have had recently?
Spo: I think it has more to do with the fact we've faced some really good teams that played great when we faced them. I mean, we're 45-26 at the moment. You're going to have rough losses in the year, it's about bouncing back like we did tonight. Even if so, I'd rather not over-work our guys for Game #67 on the year and then them being worn out when May comes around.
The responses from Spoelstra caused a bit of a controversy. Of course this goes back to the old tale of if the NBA should cut down the # of games that exist in order to complete the regular season. Regardless, it appears that Spoelstra has the mentality of a coach who's been to four straight NBA Finals, rest your guys up or at least don't kill them in practice just to get those 3-4 extra wins that may mean nothing when June comes knocking.

Game Recap: It's not that difficult to see why the Heat lost. Just look at how dominate the Hawks offense was, 3 guys scored 20+ points including a fantastic off the bench player in Randy Foye who they traded for. Chris Bosh and Wade did their job by far, but they struggled defensively and that's why they lost. It's rough to see a game like this go to waste considering how good Bosh played tonight. Need to bounce back with MUCH better defense.
Around the League:
Tim Hardaway Jr. passes for career high 10 assists in win.

Game Recap: What a beautiful comeback.. that's a team that has a switch to it. The Heat went down 23 points to the 19-53 Detroit Pistons heading into the 4th quarter. The guards were killing and the likes of Greg Monroe and Josh Smith and Andre Drummond were dominating down low. That's when Dwyane Wade flipped a switch. He was passing it to everybody including himself and just making buckets happen. Despite that, the Pistons took a 108-106 lead with 4 seconds left... but, right before that, Brandon Jennings was at the line. He missed the first (his only miss of the night) and made the second.
Wade pushed it hard down the floor and then with 2 seconds flipped it to Ray Allen for the right corner 3, he threw it up and it didn't look good with Caldwell-Pope all over him, it sunk. The Heat crowd went wild, and the Heat got win #46 on the year. What a game. What a comeback.

Game Recap: It feels like 1 point games have become a common occurrence for Miami this season. Whether it be on the losing side or the winning side, Miami came out on top today. With 43 seconds left in the game the Heat had a 2 point lead on the Spurs, when Wade stripped Manu and it was Heat ball. Wade scored and by that point the Spurs had an incredibly slim chance left. With 1 second left Kawhi hit a 3 to make it 95-94, but it was to late. The Heat had won, and they are now 47-27... wooooooooo!
Around the League:
Warriors have won 9 in a row.
Elfrid Payton (East) and Julius Randle (West) named rookies of the month.
John Wall (East) and Russell Westbrook (West) named players of the month.
Pistons have lost 7 in a row.
Wizards have lost 7 in a row.
Pelicans have won 5 in a row. Thunder have won 15 in a row. (daaaaang)
Russell Westbrook posted a triple double in the Thunder's win.
The Heat now prepare for the fourth and final regular season matchup vs the Cleveland Cavaliers.
