Melo's Monologue

Statline: 10 pts, 5 Rebs in 15 mins

"Goddamn Thabo Sefolosha. We got tied up near the basket, I boxed him out for a rebound, Thabo pushed me off and my arm went up and grazed his face. We got into it with heated words and were separated. Players and assistant coaches on both benches stood up, and security came onto the floor. What a total overreaction. I stupidly followed Sefolosha to the Hawks' end of the floor and that probably done the damage. It all calmed down as the officials watched a replay. It looked like the officials might just call offsetting technicals but of course they threw me out. That was just terrible. Another damn loss. Only got myself to blame."

Melo's Monologue

Statline: 26 pts, 13 Rebs, 4 Asts in 40 mins

"We've got to kind of re-evaluate kind of where we're at as a team right now. The different kind of schemes that we're seeing against us, we've got to be able to adjust to that and react to that. We've just got to play better. And just defensively I think we've got to get in synch a little bit more. Our defense has been pretty poor. We can score the ball but we can't keep giving up about 30 a quarter. I played a little better tonight, but after this road trip I need to have a serious chat with Lala. Leon and Phil are phoning around to see what's up."

Melo's Monologue

Statline: 7 Pts, 1 Reb, 2 Asts in 19 mins

"I just decided at the last minute to just go out there and play and try to get going and the more I played the (more sore) it got ... I don't think it's that serious. Our trainers advised me to sit the 2nd half out. So I did. Luckily I did. Harden and D'Antoni's Rockets blitzed us completely. How can one team shoot so many three's? Mike seems to remember how to coach again. Harden is a massive step up from Lin though. Dunno why it didn't work out here. Give's me a sickly feeling looking at his success over there. Another loss. Back to NYC now and face the music."

Melo's Monologue

Statline: 19pts, 7 rebs, 3 asts, 3 stls. in 35 mins

"Only thing I can say is we've got to get back to the drawing board and get back and try to get some practice time and get back to competing at the top level. Thats what I told the press. What I really think? Boo's all night, some of the team, most for me. I'm not stupid. Whether it's the propoganda from Phil, Jeffs antics on the sideline when I have the ball, it's not helping. This is the mecca. It's meant to feel like home. It doesn't anymore."

Melo's Monologue

Statline: Did not dress.

"I sat this one out tonight. My knee flared up again after the Magic game. I don't want this to carry on so I might even sit out the trip to Milwaukee on Friday. Trainers say its up to me. I don't know why i'd rush back, we are not heading anywhere fast, other than out of the playoffs. What a mess this is turning into. The Greek Freak was incredible tonight. That kid can have it all. When he learns to shoot... watch out NBA."

Melo's Monologue

Statline: 26 Pts, 6 Rebs, 10 Asts, 1 Stl in 39 mins

"I decided to risk it and play tonight. If I don't step up we will be totally out of the playoff race. Derrick is a bit off lately. He is the first to leave the locker room lately, and is keeping to himself more. Dunno whats up with that. We managed to contain Giannas tonight somewhat, at least in a scoring sense. When we are engaged defensively we are a much better team. And dare I say it, when Derrick sat in the 4th quarter and Brandon played, our defense and ball movement improved a lot. Pacers next."

Melo's Monologue

Statline: 17 Pts, 2 Rebs, 12 Asts in 27 mins

"We didn't come out with enough energy and they were playing real good basketball. Once you get down big like we did, it's tough to get back into the game. We have now lost 7 in 8. Its that time of year were teams start to make a move and the playoff picture starts to sharpen up, but we are drifting out of focus. Brandon was big tonight with 17 aswell. Kristaps is gonna be leading the league in blocks if he keeps this up. The Pacers are a team similiar to ourselves, we need to be beating them, and we didn't. Back to New York next and a catch up with LaLa who is back in town. Lets see what she thinks in person, its not the same having convo on the phone. I know she ain't happy about possibly leaving New York like me."
