Warriors Drop Pistons 98-89
Durant scores 33 as Golden State starts season 7-0

Associated Press
Oct. 29, 2017
OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriors gave the Detroit Pistons a shot at an upset by putting on their worst offensive display of the season. They up for it on the defensive side of the ball, forcing 15 Detroit turnovers and pulling from the Pistons late for a 98-89 win.

Golden State is now off to a 7-0 start on the season thanks to Kevin Durant's 33 point performance including three of five three point attempts.

"We couldn't guard him," Detroit coach Stan Van Gundy said. "Look at his numbers."

Detroit did manage to shut down Klay Thompson who shot just 4 of 14 from the field scoring a season low 11 points. Draymond Green had his second straight strong offensive game with 16 points and 6 rebounds and shut down Pistons power forward Tobias Harris who had just 6 points.

Andre Drummond dominated the boards on both ends of court grabbing 20 rebounds, but the Pistons lost for second time in the last three games after starting the season 4-0.

After playing their last three games at home, the Warriors will play the next three on the road, beginning Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Re: Warriors, Come Out and Play (NBA 2k18 Golden State Warriors Franchise)

Warriors Stay Unbeaten, top Clippers 108-92
Draymond Green ties career high with 6 blocks

Associated Press
Oct. 30, 2017
LOS ANGELES -- Despite playing their second game in as many nights, the Warriors turned in their best defensive performance of the young season on Monday, racing past the Clippers by a score of 108-92 in Los Angeles.

While Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson had average games it was Draymond Green that sparked the Warriors, especially on the defensive end of the court. Green tallied 6 blocks while also scoring 18 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

"I don't think they get enough credit defensively. It's amazing," said Clippers coach Doc Rivers. "Whenever we talk about Golden State, we only talk about their offense. And I think their defense is what sets them apart."

"Our defensive effort really got us to where we wanted to be," Green said. "The coach gave us a challenge before the game to just try and win the possession and field-goal game. Throughout the course of the game, that was the key.

"Defensively, they had a field day," Rivers said.

Quinn Cook put on his best performance as a Warriors scoring 12 points and dishing out 8 assists in 25 minutes off the bench. All of Cook's scoring came from three point range where he hit 4 of 5 attempts.

With the win the Warriors have now beaten the Clippers in 11 straight games. The last time the Clippers defeated the Warriors was Christmas Day in 2014.

Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 27 points and 12 rebounds, Lou Williams added 18 points off the bench for Los Angeles.

Golden State continues on to San Antonio where they’ll take on the Spurs in the second game of their current three-game road trip on Thursday night. It will represent the first meeting between the two teams since the Warriors eliminated the Spurs in four games in the 2017 Western Conference Finals.
