I like the new format of the play offs, I hope that one day it will also be used in the real nba
Well, you touched the Hawks, in the regular season with this team you suffered but the post season and a whole other story, I hope that Bird and companions know what to do

Yeah, the new cross-seed format is a trip -- first time I've ever done that and it's weird seeing the Lakers go against the Magic in round 1, but the other matchups are pretty interesting.

I definitely didn't want to see the Hawks and I'm hoping the injuries they've suffered tip the scale in my favor, but we'll see.

The High Post: Spurs Beat Back Hawks in Game 3
By Sam Gray

The Spurs entered Game 3, tied 1-1, after a demoralizing 114-99 loss to the Hawks the game before — Trae Young had another huge night with 34-4-8 as the star PG for the Hawks roasted the Spurs again.

San Antonio had to make an adjustment for Game 3 and it came not in the backcourt, but in the frontcourt — the Spurs stared Aldridge for the game but subbed him out early, instead giving the bulk of his minutes to Aron Baynes in an attempt to stifle some of the Hawks rebounding.

It was a gamble, a dangerous one for Coach Vanderbilt, who acknowledged the risk.

Obviously, messing with your starting lineup in the playoffs — a lineup that helped us win over fifty games and got us here —is not the first choice of any coach. But we have had issues all year getting boards and in the playoffs rebounds matter even more, because they give us extra possessions and prevent extra shots from our opponents … we need both those things if we were going to have a chance at winning this series and beyond,” said Vanderbilt.

The move paid dividends early as the Spurs defense was extra energized, trapping the Hawks players who weren’t Young and forcing them to make decisions they were uncomfortable with.

But the Hawks — despite being down by 8 at one point in the first half — did not allow themselves to go into the half down at all. They gave the ball to their best player and Young charged back in the second quarter, making everything all tied up by halftime.

The third quarter saw the Spurs barely squeak out a 4 point lead as Bird caught fire from deep, but in the fourth — in need of someone to put the game away — Murray stepped up and scored 11 of his 18 points in the final frame, abusing the Hawks by getting into the paint and getting to the line.

San Antonio walked out of Atlanta with a hard fought win, 104-92, and take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Around the NBA:

The Heat are up 2-0 (!!!!) on the Clippers, stealing both LAC home games in emphatic fashion. Miami has dirtied up the game, playing a bruising type of ball, winning Game 1 92-83 and Game 2 97-87. Kawhi and George have both disappeared, scoring in the mid-teens so far. Montrezl Harrell went out early in Game 1 with a sprained ankle, but even his absence can’t explain the disappointing performance of LAC so far.

The Bucks are up 2-0 and every other team in the playoffs is tied 1-1.

Wow, there might be a surprise here, it would be a big disappointment for Leonard and the Clippers

Yeah, it blew my mind to see the Clippers down to the Heat -- I had that series going to LAC rather easily but it looks like PG13 is disappearing at the worst time.

The High Post: Fiesta Spurs Close Out Hawks in Game 5
By Sam Gray

The Spurs entered Game 5 up 3-1 in the series after a great performance by Bird in Game 4 (32-9-15) as San Antonio walked out of Atlanta with a 128-121 win. Back on their home floor with a chance to end the series, the Spurs were ready to celebrate their win and dressed for the occasion.

Bird was once again on the warpath as he abused various Hawks on switches, using his throwback game to bully Young (who had an awful night, 6-20 from the field) and anyone else put on him. The Spurs got solid contributions from everyone on their bench, including Normal Powell and Trey Lyles, but the game was Bird’s from the tip.

Halftime showed how dominant the Spurs were and San Antonio kept their foot on the pedal in the second half, feeding Bird at every opportunity; when he wasn’t open, other were and Bird found them with expert passes that led to highlight plays.

San Antonio closed out the Hawks and now await the victor of the Heat/Clippers series.

Around the NBA:

The Heat were up 3-0 but dropped the last two to LAC after the return of Harrell — but LAC will have to navigate the rest of the series without Harrell as he’s out with injury, again. Miami may end up being the first NBA team to blow a 3-0 lead if they can’t figure out how to slow down Leonard, who’s awakened. PG13 is shooting terribly however and George’s play — whether the Clippers win or not — will be seriously questioned as he enters free agency this summer.

The Bucks are now tied 2-2 with the Grizzlies after Memphis decided to start Marc Gasol; the wily veteran hasn’t just provided leadership on the defensive end, he’s putting in points (scoring 18 and 20 the last two games) and the Bucks don’t seem to have an answer for him — Mitchell Robinson, the big addition to this roster, can’t seem to slow Gasol down.

It would be a huge break for the Spurs to face Miami in round 2. Interested to see what happens there.
