Preview at Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles - It's a rematch of the 2020 NBA Finals when the Lakers host the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. The two teams look relatively the same as that famous bubble series, but there are some new role players on each side. Notably Kendrick Nunn who left South Beach in the off-season to sign a two year deal with LA. Miami is looking to avoid a three game losing streak, as their hot 5-1 start has been erased with shoddy play over the last week. Meanwhile the Lakers are fully healthy and starting to look like the team that won the championship two season ago. Tip off from Staples Center is set for 10:00 PM.

Re: Stuntin' In South Beach (NBA 2K22 Franchise)

Looks like the defense of the guards hasn't been successful to start the season, Russ' speed alone might cause problems. Lowry can't have another 2-for-10 game, getting open looks is going to be big for Miami against the Lakers. Good luck stopping the streak before it starts.

Yeah I've thrown Butler at them, Bam actually has been the best defender on guys like Mitchell, Luka, etc. But yeah I'm going to have to make a deal for another perimeter defender I think.

Re: Stuntin' In South Beach (NBA 2K22 Franchise)

Miami Drops Third Straight as Lakers Cruise

Russell Westbrook led the way for the Lakers in their win.

Los Angeles - The Miami Heat dropped their third straight game on Wednesday night, trailing from the start, and never really putting up much of a fight in a 115-91 loss to the Lakers. The Heat offense again could not get it going other than Bam Adebayo, who had a solid 29 point, 11 rebound effort. Aside from that though the Heat shooters could do nothing to get on track. Kyle Lowry was again abysmal from the field, and Duncan Robinson did not make a field goal in his 21 minutes on the court. Meanwhile the Lakers got a balanced attack led by Russell Westbrook's 23 points, but he and the rest of the starters sat out most of the fourth quarter before they could rack up too many more stats in the rout. Miami won't have much time to dwell on the loss as they're right back at Staples Center tomorrow night to take on the Clippers.

Re: Stuntin' In South Beach (NBA 2K22 Franchise)

Herro Buzzer Beater Snaps Skid

Tyler Herro rises for his game winning jumper.

Los Angeles - Staring a four game losing streak in the eyes with 3.7 seconds left, it was the youngest person on the court who made sure that the Heat would avoid that fate. Tyler Herro calmly took the inbounds past, stepped up, and hit a three right in the Clippers face as the horn sounded, and Miami left LA with 99-98 hard fought win. It wasn't the only big shot Herro hit on the night as he led the Heat with 26 points off the bench, and carried them while few others could get it going on offense once again. This time however the defense stepped up for the Heat holding the Clippers in check. Paul George led them with 27, but had to work hard to get there, while Miami held their other options down as well. The Heat will now get a much needed day off before they continue the road trip Saturday afternoon in Utah.

Re: Stuntin' In South Beach (NBA 2K22 Franchise)

Preview at Utah

Salt Lake City - The Miami Heat look to make it two in a row on this road trip when they take on the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake. These two teams met one week ago in South Beach, with the Jazz cruising to a 127-95 win behind a 50 point effort from Donovan Mitchell. Of course stopping him will be the key to Miami avoiding a similar fate in this match-up. The tip is set for 5:00 PM from Vivinit Arena.

Re: Stuntin' In South Beach (NBA 2K22 Franchise)

Tyler is Heat's "Herro" Once Again

Tyler Herro hit his second straight game winner for Miami

Salt Lake City - On what was an off night for Miami's sixth man, he came up big once again when it mattered most. While it wasn't quite a buzzer beater, Kyle Lowry found Herro open at the elbow on the last possession of the game, and just like Thursday in LA, he calmly rose up and knocked it down with 0.3 seconds left, breaking a 116-116 tie, and sending the Heat to their second straight win. The story in this one throughout however was Miami's ability to get to the foul line, and in doing so fouling out both of Utah's star players, Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert. The 34-22 advantage at the charity stripe was no doubt what put the Heat in position to take home the W. Miami will finish off the five game west coast swing on Monday in Oklahoma City.

Pelican's Get Reinforcements

The New Orleans Pelicans have been the surprise of the young season so far, and now they're about to get stronger as Zion Williamson was cleared to resume basketball activities following off-season foot surgery. He paid immediate dividends for the Pels leading them with 25 points as they got a win over Ja Morant, and the Memphis Grizzlies. With Zion's addition back onto a team that was already near the top of the standings early on. The Pelicans look poised to be a surprise contender this season in the West.

NBA.com Power Rankings
RK (LW)TeamRecordAnalysis
1 (1) Milwaukee Bucks11-3The Bucks continue to trudge along at the top of our rankings
2 (2) Los Angeles Lakers12-2The Clear favorite in the west as long as they can stay healthy.
3 (4) New Orleans Pelicans11-3The Pelicans got reinforcements this week with the return of Zion.
4 (3) Utah Jazz9-4Two close losses for the Jazz this week knock them down a spot.
5 (5) Dallas Mavericks9-3Luka is leading the league in scoring, will this be his MVP season?
6 (6) Brooklyn Nets8-6Harden is still trying to get into the groove scoring wise, but his assist numbers have been eye-popping.
7 (9) Atlanta Hawks8-6The Hawks took three of four this week, and climbed into the top half of the East standings
8 (11) Toronto Raptors7-7The Siakam return has boosted the Raptors back into the thick of it in the East.
9 (18) Golden State Warriors6-7Golden State took three of four this week, but now have a Steph injury to contend with.
10 (14) Chicago Bulls7-6Chicago is 4-2 in their last six as they climb out from a slow start
11 (7) Los Angeles Clippers8-5The Clippers are hanging tough in a loaded West.
12 (8) Miami Heat8-5Tyler Herro bailed the Heat out from it being a disaster of a week. The offense has to get going soon.
13 (13) Boston Celtics7-6Now 2-5 after the hot 5-1 start. The Celtics need to turn it around.
14 (21) Washington Wizards7-5Three straight, and five of their last six, the Wizards may be for real
15 (10) Portland Trailblazers8-6It's getting close to time to start wondering if something is wrong with Dame Lillard. The numbers have dipped considerably.
16 (12) Phoenix Suns6-6The Suns are treading water, and should get CP3 back this week.
17 (15) Philadelphia 76ers6-8The defense has been abysmal so far. They could really use a player like Ben Simmons soon.
18 (16) Cleveland Cavaliers6-8Surprisingly in a play-in spot at the moment, and Evan Mobley has been the rookie of the year so far this season.
19 (22) San Antonio Spurs5-8Not only has Dejounte Murray taken a leap offensively, but he leads the league in steals at 2.5 per game.
20 (17) Charlotte Hornets6-9The Hornets are battling through some tough injury luck right now, but should get some starters back this week.
21 (19) Memphis Grizzlies6-7Ja, and company are hanging onto a play-in spot for now, but this roster doesn't seem to have taken much of a step forward from last year.
22 (29) Indiana Pacers5-9After injuries marred the beginning of their season the Pacers have won three of four.
23 (20) Denver Nuggets5-8If Jokic doesn't get some help soon the Nuggets may be in danger of missing out in a loaded west.
24 (24) Houston Rockets5-8The Rockets are playing hard, and are staying in striking range of making it interesting in the second half.
25 (23) New York Knicks4-9Randle is not getting any help. The Fournier signing has been a disaster so far, Kemba looks washed, and is RJ Barrett a bust?
26 (25) Sacramento Kings4-9A lot of pieces on this roster could be on the move sooner rather than later.
27 (26) Oklahoma City Thunder5-7Giddey continues to impress, and the Thunder continue to surprise.
28 (28) Orlando Magic4-9Jonathan Issac returned this week, and Markelle Fultz isn't far behind for the depleted Magic.
29 (27) Detroit Pistons3-9The Pistons have now dropped seven straight after their 3-2 start.
30 (30) Minnesota Timberwolves2-10The T'Wolves are the one team that realistically should be in full tank mode. Can they move Russell anywhere for assets?
