Lions News

The Lions have traded their starting QB! That's right QB Troy Smith is no longer a Lion. Smith was reportedly seeking a new long term deal worth approximately $6 million a year. This for a guy who has never thrown more TDs than INTs in a season. He in fact, has almost as many INT returned for TDs as TDs!

QB Troy Smith was sent to the Buccaneers for a 5th round pick in 2011.

TE Kevin Boss was also delt to the Browns for a 2012 3rd round pick. Boss was deemed expendable due to the drafting of TE Ernie Montgomery and Boss demanding a multiyear deal worth more than $3 million a year.

With only QB Rex Grossman on the roster, the Lions bring back QB Chris Redman who was cut during training camp.

Lions News

The Lions have their 3rd starting QB in as many weeks. QB Brady Quinn was traded for only hours before the Lions game with the Buccaneers and he is expected to start.

QB Brady Quinn was acquired from the Browns for disgruntled WR Mike Furrey a 6th round pick in 2011, and a 7th round pick in 2012.

To replenish the WR Corps, the Lions sign WR Chris Henry who had played with the Chargers last season, but had failed to sign with anyone during Free Agency.
