Week 7: Browns 2-3 @ Redskins 2-4 HB Clinton Portis builds off his 3 TD performance by starting the game with a 9yd TD scamper around the end. CLE 0 WAS 7 in the 1st Cleveland QB Derek Anderson doesn't waste anytime tying the game with a 12yd pass to WR Marcus Henry. CLE 7 WAS 7 in the 1st HB Clinton Portis shows that he's going to be the motor powering the Redskins offense with a 16yd TD run. CLE 7 WAS 14 in the 2nd Brown's QB Derek Anderson hits the aging but surehanded WR Joe Jurevicius for a 19yd TD CLE 14 WAS 14 in the 2nd With his 3rd TD run of the game, HB Clinton Portis give the Redskins the lead again. CLE 14 WAS 21 in the 2nd QB Derek Anderson is dismantling the Washington secondary, this time finding WR Braylon Edwards for a 10yd TD CLE 21 WAS 21 in the 2nd Washington QB Jason Campbell finally makes an appearance with a 49yd TD pass to rookie WR Harry Douglas. CLE 21 WAS 28 at the half The Browns start the 3rd quarter with another Derek Anderson TD pass this one to FB Lawrence Vickers. Four TD's to Four different receivers. CLE 28 WAS 28 in the 3rd HB Clinton Portis goes in for another TD, but somehow doesn't get credit for it in the stats...just the scoreboard. CLE 28 WAS 35 in the 3rd HB Clinton Portis grabs his 4th TD of the game (or 5th depending on who you ask) with a 30yd run...Portis fought through numerous tackles to make this one happen. CLE 28 WAS 42 in the 4th WAS backup OLB Khary Campbell picks up a fumbles Kickoff and goes 22yds for the TD. CLE 28 WAS 49 in the 4th QB Derek Anderson goes back to work vs. the downtrodden Redskins secondary and hits WR Braylon Edwards for his 2nd TD...Anderson's 5th! CLE 35 WAS 49 in the 4th HB Clinton Portis goes in for #5 (or #6?), this one from 72yd out. That's right, Clinton Portis outran the entire Browns defense for 72yds! How is that even possible? CLE 35 WAS 56 in the 4th QB Derek Anderson hits Joe Jurevicius for Jurevicius' 2nd TD of the game and Anderson's 6th. What is wrong with the Redskins secondary? Are they really this bad? CLE 42 WAS 56 in the 4th Another Redskins TD and by who else? HB Clinton Portis his 6th official TD (#7 unofficial) of the game. CLE 42 WAS 63 Final! WAS QB Jason Campbell 16/36 (44%) for 269yds TD, 2 INTs CLE QB Derek Anderson 21/37 (56%) for 313yds 6 TDs WAS HB Clinton Portis 26 runs for 264yds 6 TDs CLE HB Jamal Lewis 22 runs for 159yds WAS WR Harry Douglas 7 catches for 140yds TD CLE WR Braylon Edwards 8 catches for 149yds 2 TDs WAS DE Tony Bake 2 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 Sacks CLE DB Brandon McDonald 11 tackles, TFL, INT NFL Experts are predicting that Defensive Coordinator Greg Blache might not be with the Redskins next year if this keeps up. Right now, Blache's defense ranks dead last in yard given up rushing and passing...on the bright side they lead the league in Sacks. |

Re: Coaching Career of Jim Zorn (NFL HC 09)
Week 8: Redskins 3-4 @ Lions 2-4 The Redskins are riding a two game winning streak and beating the Lions will bring them to 500. The Lions drive to the one yard line, but the Redskins defense holds them there forcing a K J. Brown 18yd FG WAS 0 DET 3 in the 1st WR Santana Moss takes the resulting Kickoff 93yds for a TD! WAS 7 DET 3 in the 1st HB Clinton Portis looks rejuvenated in Zorn's offense and goes 80yds for a TD. WAS 14 DET 3 in the 1st The Redskins start the 2nd off with a TD by rookie WR Harry Douglas. WAS 21 DET 3 in 2nd QB Jason Campbell adds another long TD, this one to WR Santana Moss for a 70yd score. WAS 28 DET 3 in 2nd DET QB J.T. O'Sullivan formerly of the 49ers hits TE Ben Troupe for a 3yd TD. WAS 28 DET 10 in 2nd HB Clinton Portis adds a 44yd TD run. WAS 35 DET 10 in the 2nd A quick defensive stop sets up a 43yd FG by rookie Kicker Alexis Serna to end the half. WAS 38 DET 10 at the half A 37yd TD run by HB Clinton Portis to start the 4th. WAS 45 DET 10 in the 4th. Portis will add another 2 TD's in the 4th to end the game. Although a glitch prevents these TD's showing up in his stats...That makes 3 TD's Portis has been robbed of statistically. WAS 59 DET 10 Final WAS QB Jason Campbell 13/27 (48%) for 318yds 2 TDs DET QB J.T. O'Sullivan 13/24 (54%) for 132ydsm TD, 2 INTs WAS HB Clinton Portis 17 runs for 228yds 3 TDs DET HB Warrick Dunn 26 runs for 115yds WAS WR Santana Moss 7 catches for 199yds TD DET WR Mike Furrey 5 catches for 40yds WAS DE Tony Bake 5 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 Sacks DET DE Antonio Smith 2 tackles, TFL, Sack The Redskins have pulled to 500 largely behind a much improved run game and revitalized HB Clinton Portis. The remain concerns about the defense that consistently allows anyone and everyone to run for over 100yds and an inconsistent secondary that can shine in some games and then give up 300+ yards in others. Redskins Owner and Fans have let Coach Zorn know that they will be watching next weeks game vs. the Steelers. If Zorn can pull out a win vs. the struggling Steelers the Redskins will have a winning record and have a chance to climb out of the cellar of the NFC East. |
