Re: Predictions for the Big East next season?

Now that Gody has announced he will return to ND for his senior year it will be fun to see if he can become the Big East's all time leading scorer.

The league lost so many players from last year and with McAlarney gone I wouldn't be surprised if Gody put up 30 per night.

Louisville lost Terrence Williams, Earl Clark, and Andre Mcgee. The Cardinals still have some good young players returning and I'm picking them to repeat.

Syracuse won't be underrated next year... they will suck badly. Jonny Flynn completely held that team together. Is Devendorf staying? He wasn't that good for Syracuse to be in the top 6 of the BE.
We lost Terrence Williams, Earl Clark, and Andre McGee. We return Samardo Samuels, Jerry Smith, Edgar Sosa, Terrence Jennings, Reginald Delk, George Goode, and bring in talented freshman Peyton Siva.

Ah, nice to see the homerism remains strong in the off-season months.

Damn skippy it does, homerism is the only thing that keeps me going in the off season.

Big time.

Who's gonna start up front for UCONN?

Gavin Edwards I'd assume at the 5. Stanley "no mustache" Robinson at the 3. Who at the 4?

Edwards has apparently been told that the 4 is his to lose. Majok is 50/50 on staying at UConn or going overseas to play professionally but I don't even care anymore. Reports from NBA draft workouts were ugly, he's basically the second coming of Ajou Ajou Deng. Skilled but really weak and new to the game. JC claimed he woulda played 25 minutes a game if he were eligible last year but I don't buy it. His best accomplishment thus for is beasting a few folding chairs in a pair of YouTube vids.

It will be Charles Okwandu or frosh Alex Oriakhi starting at the 5. Calhoun always overhypes one player's improvement each offseason and Okwandu is this years' honoree. He's like Thabeet-lite though his basketball IQ is even worse. It doesn't sound like Oriakhi is ready to be a Big-East level starter yet so I assume it'll be Chuck who gets the nod.

We should run a ton this year after really slowing it down the last two years to get Thabeet and Adrien involved in the offense. We still have no outside shooters, Dyson is the only SG on the roster and our rebounding/interior defense will be interesting. I'm expecting a huge jump out of Kemba, Dyson to be All Big-East and Sticks to be his usual enigmatic self. One game he'll look like a lottery pick, the next he'll look like a scrub. Same old drill.

I think we'll be good enough to finish in the Top 6 based on the Kemba-Dyson-Sticks trio but we'll see. Our depth is horrible for the second straight year as well. I guess Donnell Beverly is our back up SG?
