Re: the Buckeyes...

We have given Bollman time and his offense is bread and butter. If the other team has any kind of defense, we saw, we will lose. If he doesn't spice it up this year he needs to be replaced with someone, who will give Pryor and our offense what it needs, the spread. If we have Pryor then we need to utilize him. No need we need to be taking 85% of the snaps under center. Yeah we had Beanie last year, so we did things ok. But, how many times did we pass on first down last year? Maybe 10 or 15 times. Switch things up and keep the defense on there toes. Having Pryor with experience and some speedy wideouts we have to go spread at least half the time. If we don't I and everyone else will most likely be dissappointed at the end of the year. If we mix things up I think we could be 11-1. If we do what we always do we could be 10-2 to 8-4. I have high hopes and hopefully we do things right this year.

Re: the Buckeyes...

I am trying to be optimistic...but I agree the o-coach needs to go. My wife loves osu now (converted her in time for the Natl Championship!!) and she can even tell you what offensive plays we are going to run!! We have alot of potential on that side of the ball...but it cant do anything for us when the other team knows they can put 9 men in the box and tee off on our offense on 1st down!!

If the offense comes alive...I think 10-2 (I think USC is going to be tough because of the mental side of it) plus I think PSU takes us (I hate playing against Joe Pa) and like always....praying for a win "against that team up North". Hey...my wife has learned well...she thinks that it should be against the law to say that team's name...

Oh...we are both alums of App State in NC...so THAT win was doubly special

Re: the Buckeyes...

The only problem I see on the O-side of the ball is the running back issue. Boom Herron is not an every down back. Hopefully we let Saine and Berry get some touches to keep everyone on their toes. I think if we run the Shot-"Ginn" with Saine out where Teddy used to be that it could be pretty effective. He's got good speed and pretty good hands for a back. We've got to mix it up this year. It's sad, year in and year out that I can call the plays from my living room.

Berry is going to have a lot of work to do, he will come into Columbus in the Tressel dog house due to his recent arrest. Just ask Ray Small how that dog house feels. Ray Small still has a lot of work to do.

I really think this year we see a different offense (or maybe I am just hoping). Pryor has improved a LOT over the spring (and not just mentally, but very much so physically). The talent is there across the board to make this offense deadly. We need to use the TEs, that has been one of my biggest problems with our offense ever since Hamby dropped the gimme TD that would have beat Texas in 05.

The defense will be good enough for the Big Ten, but will it be for USC and the bowl is the question.

I agree. We need to get the TE's involved. I think that Ballard has shown he can play with the big boys. Get him some passes. He's not that fast but he was effective last year when he was called upon. Stoneburner can be a nice change of pace as he is almost wide receiver-like. Not to many linebackers are going to be able to watch him and at 6'5" you can go over the top on some short fades.

Our young guys filling in for the players drafted are going to have to mature fast to get ready for USC. I would feel better if we played USC in late October or early November but I'm not sure if we'll be ready in September.

I actually feel bad for many of our TEs. I can remember in the PSU (or Michigan) game, on what was I think a 4 yard completion to Small or Thomas, or Saine (can't remember, the play was unspectacular), there was Rory Nicol doing JUMPING JACKS in the endzone, wide open. Not a man within 20 yards of him. however Pryor never saw him scrambled around, waited, and checked it down. I am pretty sure the entire north end of the stadium saw it.
