A lot of great games this weekend. I only care about one.

#5 Michigan vs. #10 Penn State
#7 USC vs. #20 Utah
#9 Oklahoma State vs. #13 TCU
#15 North Carolina State vs. #18 Syracuse
#16 Mississippi State vs. #22 Kentucky

Baylor vs. West Virginia and Temple vs. UCF get us started tonight. Navy vs. SMU is tomorrow night.

Re: Week 7 Discussion

Those first 2 games on the list are huge. It's very weird that we're going to have a top 10 matchup at 12pm, but I don't mind it at all. Great way to kick off the Saturday.

Alabama-Tennessee is interesting. In reality it has no bearing on the CFP. If either team loses, then they still control their destiny to make it to both the SEC Championship game and the Playoff. It does mean that they have to be perfect the rest of the way.

Normally I would say that it would be a huge loss if Bryce Young can't play. Which, it will, but part of me thinks that Alabama may have an advantage with Milroe in this specific matchup. Tennessee plays in a super up-temp pace that makes it hard for defenses on both teams. Milroe at QB definitely limits the total potential of their offense, but it also creates the potential for Alabama to keep UT's offense off the field and their own defense rested as they will be much more dangerous on the ground.

It's so weird that in a weekend that features Miss State vs. Kentucky and LSU vs. Florida, that the only ranked teams in that list are both playing each other in that first one.

For the first time ever, unranked Oklahoma will be hosting ranked Kansas.

Tough targeting on the WVU DB. The replay literally shows him going low at the same exact time the QB starts to slide. What is he supposed to do. have superhuman reaction time and strength to somehow avoid contact at that point?

Stop with the common sense.

Re: Week 7 Discussion

Second time I've seen it this year, but some common sense needs to be applied. FIU's QB just threw the world's most obvious incomplete pass. It shouldn't even need to be reviewed. If you couldn't see that live, you need to be retired as a ref. But they let the play go, so UTSA picks it up and starts running it back. Facemask on an OL. Review gives FIU the ball back, but still a facemask penalty. None of that sequence ever should have happened. Utterly ridiculous.

Combine that with an 'inadvertent whistle' while a punt was rolling means a hold on a PR is a free first down for Navy's offense, and they use their free possession to score a TD to take the lead 14-13. The whistle blowing 2 seconds early while the ball rolled about 3-4 more yards literally affected nothing and was barely audible in the replay.

Re: Week 7 Discussion

Orangemen vs NC State
Bama vs Vols

I haven't been interested in a Vols game since Fulmer was in charge. I hope this is a good one!
