Re: Ohio State will be Number 1

What the preseason polls do is create a totem pole like philosophy by the voters.

If team A is ranked ahead of team B, its damn near impossible to rank team B ahead of team A unless team A loses.

Who agrees with me?

If that's the case, I might start think about being bothered, if I were you.

[quote=jmood88;2037825424]I really don't know how people can overlook that ****ty schedule. There hasn't been a single marquee game this year. If someone wasn't an Ohio State fan, what game would they be wanting to see?[/

I understand what you are saying. But analysts kept saying both Washington and Purdue should be challenges for Ohio State. When Ohio State finished them off, all of the sudden they are bad teams. You can't have it both ways. You can;t say it is a challenge before the game and then say they haven't played anybody. Plus, don't forget Washington played USC tough and is currently ahead of Arizona State.

I try to get scared of that situation then I realize that you still have Lloyd Carr as your coach.

Plus hasn't Mike Hart been banged up all year? By the time he gets to OSU he might be worn down to the bone.

Auburn and West Virginia are light years better than any team that OSU has played.

Does it honestly matter who is #1 or #2? Either way you get in the title game if you win out.

Hart's been okay until today, but even then he looked fine on the sidelines. We'll see how the coaches work with him in the next month. He himself has said he loves getting a lot of carries because he rarely takes a lot of "hits". He gets tackled, but there aren't a lot of straight on collisions. That's why he carried it 44 times against Penn State and said he felt fine after the game.

And LC aside (that ***), Michigan's defense is built to stop the kind of offense Ohio State runs. I'm obviously not saying that makes it a lock, but OSU isn't going to line up 5 wide and have Boeckman running all over the place, and that evens the playing field a great deal. Michigan is starting to find its feet after a disastrous start. November 17th looks like a real doozy right now.
