Valero Alamo Bowl: Michigan State vs. Texas Tech

on one side you have a team playing without their head coach of ten years, the other side you have a team playing without 8 or so of their players who were suspended. not sure how many of those were starters, but it seems like it would cause some trouble for them.

game is 9 PM EST tonight on ESPN.

Off the top of my head: CB C.L. Rucker, WR Mark Dell, and one other WR were starters. Although a couple of the others didn't start but still saw significant playing time. Tech's passing game should do well tonight.

I'm interested to see how much it hurts TTU since Leach isn't coaching. Did he call the plays for Tech or did the OC do that?

Leach used his post-it note for the play calling duties.

I'm not 100% sure who will be the OC for the game. the interim HC is the DC. he will not the the OC obviously.

Will Adam James be dressed for this one? Will he get snaps?

There isn't much play calling to be done. Most TT passing plays are either pre-called screens or they're option routes. The WRs are supposed to go find 'open space.' The difference shouldn't be too significant.

only if he has been cleared to play from his concussion.

if cleared, he probably wont get more than a snap or 2 like usual, unless Tech starts blowing out Michigan State. he wasn't in the normal rotation of WRs, unless the coaches fear the wrath of Craig James. the rest of the time, he'll likely be on his phone crying to daddy about not getting to play.

thankfully, Craig James was taken off the broadcast team, I don't have to listen to him talk.

I think it will be a good matchup, neither team was great this year, but the suspensions will hurt State for sure, at least we still have Blair White.
