I would agree with this completely if they wait until the end of the season and roll forth to finish the year with an interim. I don't know Sark from you or anybody else, but he doesn't seem the type that would jump ship mid season. I do get that he's a So Cal kid and tried to play at USC, but I'm just not sure he would pull the trigger mid year.

He'd definitely finish out the year in Seattle, but if USC comes offering in January: Trojans HC + dump truck of money will be too much to pass up.

I was hoping Kiffin would have a solid year. Not a great one solid enough to inspire a little bit of hope and enable him to stick around for at least another couple of years. BAMA has some verbal commits from some Cali kids and is getting interest from some others. I like to believe that Kiffin was at least partly to thank for that and that his continued presence at SC would be helpful in getting them to stick/commit.

USC going after Tony Dungy is intriguing.

If I were Texas, with the inevitable departure of Mack...I would make a call to Waco and ask Art Briles if he wanted the gig.

His offensive system plus Texas's resources would give Oregon a run for their money as scariest offensive machine out there.

This should go without saying, but I will NOT post any Firing or Hiring in the OP until a school makes an official announcement. Once the offseason hits and the plane tracking websites get dusted off these rumors and "locks" will come flying in (pun not intended)

Briles should be an absolute no brainer for Texas. I have read and listened to some in the media who think Texas`s arrogance would keep them away from Briles. They think Texas would never go to Baylor to get a football coach. Who knows how true that is.

I agree with you that Briles would be lights out at Texas with their resources and the players he would get. If they don`t want to go after Briles then they should go after Gary Patterson.

If their arrogance keeps them away from Briles then they deserve to continue to suffer with someone like Mack Brown and I can't feel bad for them.
