I love Riley.... he's one of Bear's boys

I remember really wanting him to come to Alabama when we was offered the job after Franchione left. We got stuck with the lesser of the two Mike's (Shula), but I guess it turned out okay.

I didn't think Nebraska had that kind of pull to get Riley out of OSU.

Damn...that's such a good hire. It'd be awesome if someone in the B1G West division wasn't totally **** outside of Wisconsin.

From what I've read on BeaverBlitz, it sounds like Riley was 100% ready for next season in Corvallis....until his end of season meeting with BDC & Ed. From what staffers were saying, after that meeting his demeanor changed.

So either he was told by administration that they were reigning in some of the control, or he already had the Nebraska offer & did some last minute negotiating to try and save his staff....and it didn't go anywhere.

That said....If I hear one more writer in Oregon mention Dennis Erickson, I'm going to snap. So many retreads on the lists here. One had Erickson, June Jones, and Bronco Mendenhall as their top 3.

I'm hoping for the dark horse hire of Chris Klieman from NDSU.

Texas A&M WR coach David Beaty is getting the Kansas job. He was a former Kansas OC in 2011. He is a Texas guy and is great recruiter. Sounds like a good hire for Kansas.

Already tired of seeing Schiano's name as a candidate. I'd rather they kept Hoke if they're going to hire him.
