PS3 Chief: No Price Drop Before June 2008

Are you happy to spend £425 on a PS3 this coming March? Or do you plan to wait around for at least fifteen months or so until we see any significant price drop (according to Sony)?

they continue to amaze me with how completely out of touch they are with their userbase.

why this is news continues to amaze me. They already are having trouble selling ps3's, so why admit they are considering a price drop? That'd only make people hold off a potential purchase until it happens. If a price drop happens, it'll be unannounced until right before a scheduled time to help out sales.

No company, whether it be MS or Sony will ever announce drops early.

That comment's laughable. If sales continue to underperform they'll be a price drop for the Xmas season and will include a couple a games as a bonus. If Microsoft does a price drop by the summer you'll see one with Sony before Labor Day which is just in time for the PS3 game library to be built up.

With so much riding on the Blueray technology there is no way Sony can allow everyone to own a HD Drive and risk having Blueray Discs go the way of the dodo bird by having Xbox sales far exceed thier system. In fact it may be enough of a incentive to have Sony announce a price drop before Microsoft.

I think Sony will have to drop the price shortly after MS drops the price on the 360.

If Sony doesnt' drop there pirce and MS continues to sell well, they wont drop there price, theres no point unitill sony drops.
