if you have a HDTV, you are missing out. Trust me. You are missing out now and have been for almost a year. A HD player for $179 and 3 movies is a great deal.

I don't understand this argument. There are 100's of movies out on HD DVD right now. If you go out and get this player and 5, 10, or 100 of your favorite movies and then the format fails, it's not like somebody in a Men in Black suit is going to come to your house and demand your HD DVD players/movies back and then fry your memories. You'll still have your player, you'll still have all the movies that you've bought.

Blu-ray will win and HD-DVD is just slowly bleeding to death. The market has proven it cannot support two formats in the long run and HD-DVD has very little going for itself compared to everything that is in Blu-ray's corner. I would not invest in an HD-DVD player.

I have one but my blu ray library triples my HD DVD library.

$179.99 and five free movies is not a bad deal to enter the HD market. Nothing in the blu ray department can come close. Of course though one must already own a 360.
