45nm 360 CPU chips on the way?

Maybe if they had put more money upfront into R and D and had these smaller chips read for the launch they could have saved themselves a ton of cash later dealing with all these breakdowns.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I read 45nm chips are estimated at spring 08.

First I want the 65nm ones.

Impossible, smaller scaled down chips always come from the initial batch. The R&D teams and engineers will look at the first run and find ways to scale them down. This process only happens when they can fit two chips on the same wafer.

meh, uninteresting. If the regular chip sizes were to work correctly then it wouldnt matter. and it shouldnt matter if the console was designed right from the get-go. I guess unfortunately this is not the case.

speaking of, i got home to play SOTN and i got my first RROD after about 30 minutes of play!

So now the wait to see if it happens again ( which it probably will).

That's the key right there because it's obvious it wasn't. Heatsinks coming loose, motherboards warping from too much heat, thermal grease not applied properly etc.

Yeah Barcardi I hate to say it man but you consoles days are numbered.

It will, my 360 starting freezing up about a week ago. This loud sound would come out of my speakers and then freeze. It lasted about a week and now it's dead.

360 needs more fans and a better to get rid of the heat. PS3 has more and bigger fans.

What the 360 needs is a front air inlet so it can suck in cool air and blow out the hot air out the rear. It could also use variable speed fans so it blows out more hot air when the temps go higher.

That's how the PS3 does it.
