Taking your 360 on the road.

Has anyone tried taking their 360 in a vehicle? I'm going to be driving south and wanted to take the 360 on the road. Although most of the time it will be used while parked I thought maybe while I'm at the wheel others might want to play. Has anyone had any experience with their 360 in a moving vehicle? I'll be driving one of those custom vans.

hmm, don't they have 360's custom built into some Caravans? I think you'll be ok.

It's one of those conversion van things. Didn't even have an outlet so I bought one of those conversion things for the lighter socket. 150 volts/watt whatever. lol

You should be fine.

I used to take my PS2/Xbox on family vacations all the time in high school/college.

Best. Car-rides. Ever.

It'll probably be ok. Though if you have to hit the breaks hard you could run the risk of scratching a disc.

True. I'll make sure something cheap is in the 360 while the car is in motion. I'll make a sign "APF 2K8 ONLY WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION" lol

Re: Taking your 360 on the road.

this is why I liked my ps2 having a HDD. I could put all my games on the HDD, and not worry about carrying a bunch of disks with me, or having them get messed up. Plus, it didn't have a huge power brick outside of the console.

Even now, I'd probably still take that on road trips over a 360 that would love to break even sitting on an entertainment center.

Re: Taking your 360 on the road.

You bought a power inverter... I believe that's the name of the box that you plug into the cig lighter and the 360 plug into the box

Ive done this with my original xbox but not with the 360.

It's tough though playing games that move in a fast pace while driving for some reason.
