I can tell you just in my circle of friends and family with either 360 or PS3, which is about 35-40 households, there are only two that have ever done online gaming on their console... And that was my 18 year old brother, and my cousin who frequents these forums.. And both only used the free month trial period and then never got online again...

Again thats just from the people I know, so It would be very interesting to know what the stats are...

Ok I found a couple of numbers online...

Xbox Live Gold passed the 10 million user mark recently...

Now Microsoft claims that they have sold over 28 million consoles worldwide...

So when you think about it thats what about 35% for the 360... Not sure about PS3 numbers...

If you think 10 million is a small amount then you crazy...

xbox live is the single best thing out right now for video games...

i can assure you that psn dont even had that many people playing online and is free...

everybody i know that has a 360 and that is much more then 35 households all have live....

and they are on that all day and night...

next gen is for online gaming...i dont game online that much because i dont have the time...but when i do is the best thing out right now..so much you can do...on psn i feel like i am in a basement with nobody around..is dull and lame...

many people that follow feature titles are mostly interested in the multi player aspect

most people i know get all the shooters and go online first before even going into single player...

it is what it is and live has done very well with their service...is perfect...


sony ps3 is the most advance console with the options it has and all the goodies...but for strictly gaming the 360 is the king right now....in sales and in game sales....

Wow rawdog. Your stats seem a bit sensationalist.

You claim the majority of Xbox owners aren't online and the very next breath you say you know of 35-40 households that only two have ever done online gaming.

You're either stretching the truth VERY far or your "circle of friends" are senior citizen homes that have next gen consoles.

Never been known to stretch the truth on these boards buddy... And I said 35-40 households with PS3 and 360, not just 360... And as I said out of those households only 2 have ever been online with those consoles... Most of those people live in the inner city, have 1 computer in the house, and no router, so they have no idea how to get the 360 or PS3 connected to the net for online gaming..

Or they only play people in the neighborhood...

No reason for me to lie in a 360 vs PS3 thread, I own both... Sorry..
