I didn't know people actually sat their PS3 upright like that. Anyone on here have theirs vertical that can comment on it (games freezing, reliability, etc).

I have had mine vertical since purchase 3 years ago and have experienced no problems. Takes up less space for my area. One has to be a bit careful not to knock it over though.

both consoles are designed to accommodate both, and they're almost exclusively advertised in the vertical position.

Mine sits horizontal and just died tonight apparently.

^ Back when I owned my 360 and tried it vertically it made some horrible noises (worse than the 360 standard ones). I was afraid to do it with my PS3 after I switched. I'll have to give it a try.

Ever since the PS2, playstations were meant to stand vertically. It saves space and its been working fine since Nov. '06.

With a toddler vertical is not an option for our PS3.

Vertical might save space but if you got kids or pets in the house, that's a NO GO.
