I haven’t bought a physical game in forever, but physical definitely seems cheaper. Deals are usually better on sales and of course you could trade in a game once you’re done. I just prefer digital now.

For us sports fans physical still makes sense because keeping say mlb 16,17,18,19 in 2020 makes no sense. Rather trade in yearly released sports games, even if it’s for 5-10 bucks because I don’t need any coasters.
This. I would rather have the option. Forget about the ps4 discs I have that I have yet to finish, I have a stack that I have yet to even open. No way I'm buying those again! I also get duped ever year with sports titles and have to get them right away so there's that haha

That being said, if I could ONLY get the digital ps5 I would've (I do think it looks much better haha). I was lucky enough to get the disc version I wanted and can't wait to play all my discs AND digital games come November!

Granted, this doesn't apply to Xbox Series X like it does PlayStation 5 due to the variations of the two Xbox models while PlayStation is only excluding the disc drive but for me, buying a game digitally is about if im playing that game over a long term period like Valhalla or Cyberpunk in which I know I will be playing the expansions so all in for them digitally.

But for games like COD, Watch Dogs Legion, etc. in which im only going to play the base game and that's it, these are disc purchases as I want to get back half of what I spent on them.

The PS Store has sales/deals almost weekly , and if you can hold off buying a game on release day and wait a few months you can get it for half price or less. Also there are many places online to get reviews and previews of games so there shouldn't be a problem buying a game you do not like. Also with programs like PlayStation Now and Game Pass you may not even need to buy a lot of games , just play them there and move on.

Example: MLB The Show 20: I held off buying it on release day just kept playing 19. Today I can get it for $23.99 on sale on the PS Store , and I will. Also I've found holding off and waiting to get game on sale usually means they have already been patched a few times and are working as they should. Unlike release day when you have to deal with a series of bugs and glitches.

I agree with you 100%, but I’ll say this. Once the option for disks are gone I doubt the sales will always be good. Like you I’m also all digital.

I game share so that’s why I never buy physical.

Yup same here. I bought the Disk version since that was all I could secure when preorders started. I have been on the lookout for the digital version ever since. I am looking to score another one for my son so If I find a digital one I will keep the digital one for myself and just give my son the Disk based one. Hoping more preorders become available before launch

Anyone? Instead of arguing which one ,anyone have any info where there might be another preorder for us still on the outside looking in?

Yes exactly this. Plus I dont think I've ever purchased a game I didnt like. I'm very very picky with what I buy and I try and get them on sale. I'm also not a pc gamer. You dont pay taxes on the playstation store either.
