Bad Psychology in the Community Market

So let's say the lowest sell is 2500. I want to sell a card so I post at 2499. Someone else comes along trying to sell theirs quick so they post it at 2200. If the 2200 sells right away it doesn't hurt anyrhing. If a few other sellers come around before that happens though and post at 2199, 2198, etc, the price is going to start to anchor at that lower number until there are enough extra buyers versus sellers to clear out all those orders. If a few of the old 2500 sellers decide to cut their losses though then they'll post on the 2200 range and then the price is just about stuck.

I've started actually placing the buy orders now. Realized that I can save a little here and there vs buying what's listed. And usually I'll do it for 1 more then lowest. But 30-40% of time I'll go 20 over lowest depending on what the price is.

As for selling I usually just go ahead and place it on lowest price listed.
