Re: Caps/jerseys cash grab

FWIW, even though the prices have gone down on some souvenir stuff, I could still make around 6k off the Diamond Red Sox jersey I'm hanging onto, which is about what it was before. But I'm still holding it because of it's value towards completing the Ruth program - 775 exchange points towards that mission.

Those changes did nothing for a ton of people who already have those player programs done. Still need to spend a **** ton to buy 100 of a teams hat to do the player arcs.

That hat thing wasn’t the only change chief. Relax.

Yeah in reality the exchanges have maybe brought prices down by maybe 50%, probably more like 25% (with the exception of those Reds/Red Sox silver jerseys). Still looking at hundreds of thousands of stubs to do the missions(and probably hundreds of hours putting up hundreds of order on the same item).

Whether you want to be cynical (realistic) and think the main reason for these is to be a huge cash sink to take millions of stubs out of the game, or be more positive and think this is just a badly thought out way of introducing new (pointless)content, the reality is that these are a terrible implemented idea that has no positives and huge negatives for the mode. It's the sheer quantity required that make them such a farce.

They don't slow down peoples ability to get immortals, as that's done by not releasing all the programs needed yet. All they are doing is making players waste huge amounts of time and stubs. They are just tedious

I agree with all of that. I def fall in the “we thought this was a cool idea but we executed it horribly” camp.

Re: Caps/jerseys cash grab

I am about to wrap up conquest 1 and I was looking at what I want to do next, keeping in mind that I am an offline player.

I once again realized that I HAVE to acquire hat's and jersey's to even get the player cards needed to do any of the position programs. For example, I needed Cardinals gear to do the Jaime Garcia program.

The problem is I only have 6000 stubs and buying gear for the position programs could put a large dent in that total. The missions themselves pay out so few stubs that it will be a net loss. For example I finished Garcia's stats mission in one 9 inning game so I know I came out behind.

After completing that I still have only 1 of 4 pitcher missions done to get started on Sutton's Program, which I believe is required for Gibson. So, buy more gear, get card, complete mission. You end each program with a card that you will cast aside, very few stubs and a program which is just a gatekeeper to an even more expensive program.

It really seems that there is little to no hope of making significant progress on anything if you are not willing to spend money and don't want to play the market.

Honestly, the vast majority of my stubs have come from selling the silver hats and diamond jerseys I get from the daily missions. I've not done any online stuff or trading on the market yet I seem to just about keep my head above the water just on the sales from them, along with the small mission rewards.
