The Ravens' Nest
Week 13 Preview
Volume 1, Issue 27

Houston Texans (3-8) @ Baltimore Ravens (7-4)

Houston Texans
David Carr: 2041 yards, 13 TD, 14 INT
Domanick Davis: 245 carries, 1087 yards, 3 TD; 57 receptions, 517 yards, 2 TD
Andre Johnson: 56 receptions, 766 yards, 8 TD
Kailee Wong: 77 tackles, 3 sacks
Robaire Smith: 36 tackles, 7 sacks
Marcus Coleman: 32 tackles, 5 INT

Ravens' Keys to the Game

1. Keep Andre Johnson out of the endzone, he has a nose for it.

2. Dunta Robinson cuts our field in hald. Focus on the other corner and use the slot receiver.

3. David Carr scares me. He can torch a defense any week. Make sure our corners are ready.

Key Matchups
1. Chris McAlister vs. Andre Johnson
2. Derrick Mason vs. Dunta Robinson
3. Mark Clayton vs. Phillip Buchanon

Week 13 AFC North Matchups

Jaguars (6-5) @ Browns (5-6)- Former divisional rivals face off in the midst of a wildcard race.

Bengals (7-4) @ Steelers (4-7)- The Bengals have lost two straight, and must rebound from their embarassing loss to the Ravens last week.

Monday Night Football

Seahawks (6-5) @ Eagles (7-4)- The Seahawks are still trying to establish themselves as contenders, and a big step in doing so would be beating the perenial contenders, the Eagles.

Game of the Week

Jets (6-5) @ Patriots (9-2)- The always heated rivalry between the Jets and Pats is enhanced by Ty Law's return to Foxboro, this time wearing Jets' green.

Re: Baltimore Ravens

Andre's doing well.

I'd double him with Reed and C-Mac.

Ravens unleash hell on Texans in 55-14 drubbing

BALTIMORE, MD- The vaunted Ravens' defense, known for forcing turnovers like the plague, started off slow to start the season.

They tried to make up for it all in one game, as they intercepted SIX passes and scored on two of them in a 55-14 raping of the Houston Texans.

While the defense went nuts, and Anthony Wright's day was easy, going 9-18 for 160 yards, it was Jamal Lewis that ruled the day, carrying 37 times for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns, averaging SEVEN yards a carry. Mark Clayton and Todd Heap each caught 3 passes, for 47 and 55 yards respectively.

For the second straight game the Ravens' defense put the opposing QB through hell, as David Carr threw 27 passes, completing only a third of them, and the six interceptions. Domanick Davis carried 22 times for a tough 59 yards and a TD. Corey Bradford caught 2 passes for 99 yards. Chris McAlister continued his domination of WRs, as star Andre Johnson had a single catch for 29 yards.

Ray Lewis continued to rack up the tackles, getting 12 of them, 2 of them for sacks. He also forced a fumble, that was recovered by Ed Reed. Along with that, Reed had 6 tackles and a pair of interceptions, the 2nd one he nearly scored on. After have 1 INT in the first 10 games, Reed has 4 in the last two. Samari Rolle, Chris McAlister, Tommy Polley and Adalius Thomas each had an INT, Polley and C-Mac scoring on their. Thomas added 6 tackles.

Safeties Marcus Coleman and Glenn Earl led the Texans with 9 tackles each, since Jamal Lewis rumbled into the secondary on basically EVERY play. Jason Babin and Morlon Greenwood each had 6 tackles. Antwan Peek had 4 stops and a sack.

The 8-4 Ravens travel far west next week, taking on the Denver Broncos.

Jamal Lewis speaks out
Running Back nearing end of run with Ravens?

DENVER, CO- A few days after one of his greatest games of his career, you'd think Jamal Lewis would be all smiles.

He's just the opposite.

In an interview in the locker room after a practice in Denver leading up to the Ravens' game with the Broncos, the star HB revealed that he has been at odds with Ravens' management since the start of Training Camp.

"I know that management's new and all, but I made it clear I wanted to renegotiate my contract, and they basically gave me the cold shoulder," Lewis explained to a slew of microphones crowded around his locker.

Lewis is in the final year of his contract, making $8.6 million this year. When asked for comment on this situation, Ravens' General Manager Brian Kudron had little to say.

"We have a number of players who want new deals and are in the final year of their contracts. No one player if more important than the team."

Other notable players in their final years of their contracts besides Lewis include current starting QB Anthony Wright, backup RB Chester Taylor, troubled WR Koren Robinson, anchor DT Kelly Gregg, starting ROLB Tommy Polley, FS Will Demps, punter Dave Zastudil, and CB Chris McAlister.
