Re: 2006 Florida Marlins: Who are these guys? (MVP 05)

Florida went 16-12 in September to clinch the Wild-Card, finishing the season winning twelve of fourteen. The previous two times the Marlins had the Wild Card, they won the World Series. Unfortunately, the team will have to do it without closer Francisco, who is out for the season with a torn ACL. Mid-season pickup Reitsma will have closing duties.

Cabrera -- .297/36/111
Hermida -- .306/23/63
Morneau -- .245/19/98
Willis -- 14-6, 1.81 ERA, 146 K

AL MVP: M. Teixeira (TEX)
NL MVP: A. Dunn (CIN)
AL CY: J. Santana (MIN)
NL CY: D. Willis (FLA)

Cabrera and Giles earned Silver Sluggers. The team has $2.25 million in the bank.
