Re: Limits to Player Editing in EA Sports College Football 25 FAQ

I keep reading responses about player unions being a fix to allow player editing.

1 - I still don't see anything in the current contracts that doesn't allow for it, now. The language is quite detailed and covers everything. This is expressly why I have been listing things that seem contradictory to me.

2 - The current contract that covers every kid in the game (for their entire careers in college) is the exact same contract you are thinking that a sudden player union will change anything for. That's not how contracts work. Either, the current contract is amended or replaced with a new one. Granted, yes, the kids coming into college next year for the first time, they will have to sign in or opt out of the whatever contract, as well, but they will also be signing one for their entire college careers. ---- Point being, that whatever the game is right now and what it allows, THAT is the contract for 3-5 years regarding these players. I don't understand how players unionizing helps change the current contract or the outlook that editing suddenly opens up until this contract "as is" expires. I feel like they "may" have some clause or alternate contract ready-to-go-asap for further customization, but I more so doubt they have anything at all.

I feel like it really just stems from scared, puckered up people at the top of the chain in EA, just walking on eggshells (but not making complete sense) and we'll find out for sure if it all suddenly changes next year (without a revised contract). If anything, I can certainly attest to "fear" being the number one thing that makes people skirt common sense and/or logic.

Careful, that answer doesn't work for his negative agenda.

I posted this (see arrow below) in another thread but I'm going to re-post it here. I have no idea how accurate I'm about this thought. This "idea" is not mine alone, I have watched many streams and several of the streamers also echo the same thoughts (or may actually know). I would also like to note -- I want complete editing and "create a prospect" back as well. If the below is true, then it seems pretty cut and dried to me. Take it for whatever it's worth (if anything).

---> Though I think a CFB union may help bring back complete editing, I do not think that's the main reason editing isn't in the game.

I think the main reason editing isn't in the game is because most of the Colleges wouldn't agree to be in the game with out either limited editing or no ratings editing at all. Meaning, ofc, without an "editing concession" this game would not exist at all.

In what capacity? Does this refer to NIL players? Generic players? Understand not changing #'s for NIL because that's part of their likeness, but game generated players?

Is that in reference to recruits? Also is that guy credible?

So much of this makes 0 sense to me. Like what is the harm in editing ratings of recruits? They are fake and do not exist. I would think editing their names would be more of an issue than editing their ratings.

I also still struggle with the consistency of limiting any editing of random gen fake players. I could just as easily stream a RTG playthrough or a Dynasty using a create a player that features a player that lawyers would not want to be streamed. What's the legal difference between that and editing a random player in a dynasty to resemble such a player?

Like TC9 said this is for generic recruits. I would assume NIL guys are locked in with equipment being the only thing we can edit. I assume generic players in the launch roster can be edited, but just names and equipment.
