I think you're talking about the Uproxx early dynasty article:

To be honest though, I'm skeptical because the way "talent tree" is used in the dynasty deep dive feels more like it refers to just abilities and not players that could transfer with a coach. If a feature like the one described above were in the game, I think it would have been more obviously mentioned because of how cool of a feature it is.

We'll have to see, but I feel like the Uproxx writer may have gotten that wrong? Regardless, I think the game is trying to simulate players leaving with a coach with dealbreakers relating to coach prestige and coach stability. Players with those dealbreakers should be much more likely to transfer if you fire a good coordinator or one leaves, and maybe some will automatically have that former coach's new team in their top 5, but there might not be a system in place for them to guarantee following a coach.

Last thought, maybe the "talent tree" both articles are talking about is not a list of players attached to a coach, but instead a list of players on the coach's team that are likely to transfer, so you can keep those in mind if any of them do transfer.

I'm really glad custom conferences are back because at the very least it means I can make mine more geographic/region related or at least close to making sense. I found out today that California is apparently in the ATLANTIC COAST Conference?! What?! That's so so dumb to my brain

So I'll at least be putting the Pac-12 back together and moving some teams around to see what kind of fun stuff I can do down the road geographic/region wise and competitive wise too.

Wow that's so wack what happened the conferences that made sense in my brain man! SMU, Stanford, and California are all in the ACC now. I remember when Maryland moved to the Big 10 from the ACC and even then I didn't like it mostly from a traditional POV, but it made sense somewhat given Rutgers was in the conference so I can live with that one.

Has anyone confirmed if conference invitations are in the game? It would be cool to see a bigger conference take notice in your school’s success and invite you to their conference. I know it was a feature in previous games. But if it’s not in the game it’s not a big deal.
