I'll give it a shot and see how it plays out.

It’s really going come down to this, if you want a challenge take a bad team on varsity like my alma mater the University of Virginia. Now I will say this, I’m using Ohio State on varsity and I lost twice. I don’t know how I lost, but I lost twice, but I could deal with the losses because I do have a freshman quarterback whose rating is not that high that struggled.

Played the most exciting game with the most fireworks thus far since I've had the game last night. Playing off of the Pre-Patch 1.0.0.9 build, I(UNC) went up against Ole Miss. I jumped out early, slowing their offense down. I was leading 22-7 in the 2nd quarter, but gave up a score before the half to lead 22-14 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter, they used Turbo No Huddle and wore us out, out scoring us 15-0 in the 3rd. They scored first in the 4th to go up by 2 scores, but we responded with a quick TD to cut it to 7. We got a couple of defensive stops and was able to score to tie the game and force overtime with time winding down. We lost the coin toss and got the ball first. They held us to a FG, and Ole Miss ended up winning on a walk off TD pass to juice Wells, who just made my DB look silly to end the game. I wasn't even mad at the outcome. The game was like a heavyweight fight with a lot of offense and and spotty, yet timely defense. My team had over 500 yards total offense and Ole Miss had 471. My QB Max Johnson was 43-54 for 369 yards with 4 TD and 1 pick. Ole Miss QB Jaxon Dart was 20-28 for 361 yards TD and 0 picks. They had two WR's to go over 100 yards receiving. Juice Wells did work for them. Final score 49-46 Ole Miss in OT.

Nothing felt cheap about the game. It was just one of those games, and it was actually the first shootout I've ever been apart of since I've had the game. Ole Miss is explosive and when they went Turbo, they whipped up on us! About to edit that video and post it.

Pre patch build was so much better.

On varsity, the game plays like it should. Ex. If I go into Ohio Sate with Ball State, I should reasonably expect to get beat bad. If I go into an even matched game on the road, I should have to play well to win.

In my testing, Varsity works for me. On AA, I couldn't stop the CPU at all and it all felt less than organic
You guys are defintely on to something. Played two games in my USC Dynasty on Varsity with some modificaitons to sliders, etc.

Game just seems to play more naturally, more organically. Saw a lot of animations I hadn't seen before.

Still tweaking but I like where this is going.

Ah man...

I know I said earlier in one of these threads that I was able to win on All-American. I went to consecutive bowl games in years 3 & 4 of a now deleted JMU dynasty if memory serves. There's a reddit post in the NCAA sub about dropping the difficulty where a guy was talking about winning on Heisman. He alluded to how he plays with settling for only short throws underneath and all manner of ways his play style is severely limited due to the difficulty of Heisman to which I told him, "man look at how you have to play just to be able to say you can win on Heisman". Like where's the fun in that. Ya know?

Yes, we want a challenge. We want our 1-star teams to struggle as we're building them up but we still want it to be fun playing the game. I think folks just have to get to the point some of us old heads are getting to and put that ego in the garbage and be ok moving those difficulties around.

Yeah I'm not trying to impress anyone with my ability to beat higher levels. I just want a fun, competitive, somewhat realistic experience on the field.

Agreed, I think the internet has everyone thinking you aren’t a real gamer if you can’t beat souls like games or play on the hardest difficulty. I’ve been gaming all my life and the hardest difficulty always feels cheap and cheesy. What’s the point if you have to rely on cheesing to win games. Varsity seems so balanced, I blow out fcs teams and have struggled on the road against good teams.

We need to normalize playing on normal
