I feel it was a very well written and fair article worth many of you checking out, if you haven't done so already. Many of these topics covered in his piece has many threads within this forum about very similar observations.

Personally, I love certain points made throughout, including the empty feeling in in game modes and not expecting anything and hoping for the best in future years. Good stuff.

So, how do you all feel on the article?
The game is everything I wanted it to be, and it's so insanely addictive, that frankly it scares me.

That's what I think.

-The random nature of progression is really accurate in the CFB landscape. It could use some tuning of course but please don’t gamify progression in future games via weekly practice mini games or whatever.

-Overall dynasty just has a lot of meat to it. I know people say it’s just recruit and play but that does a bit of a disservice to both of those things imo. Plus the coaching skill trees are super in depth and it’s fun to be strategic with my points especially on the slowest coach XP
Thank you for sharing this. I was wondering about the 'it's just recruit and play' point the IGN reviewer was making, and it got me thinking about other sports sims. FC24 & NBA2K in particular. Are they that much more deep in their week-to-week (or day-to-day) dynasty modes? None of these offer Football Manager or OOTP level of management, so as a non-owner of CF25, it got me wondering if there's a legit emptiness to CF25, or is it just a criticism all of these play-first sports games.

I feel like it was written by someone who is more of a video game fan than a football fan. Nothing wrong with that, but he didn't touch on any of the core on-field issues such as pathing/pursuit (which completely breaks the game), ball hawk turning everyone into Moss/Sanders, man coverage issues, press coverage bugs, etc. It is very misleading to state that the gameplay is the best we've seen without bringing any of those points up.

As somebody that is thoroughly enjoying my time with this game, I completely agree with his take. Gameplay is great but TONS of missing features/quality of life items.

I didn't see any direct mention of presentation, which is where the game is severely lacking imo. When I first heard about multiple broadcast teams and read about all of the names like Desmond Howard, etc, my mind instantly went to animated half time shows and studio updates which we got neither!!! Everything is pretty bland within dynasty, needs some spicing up.

It's a fair review but as someone who strictly uses dynasty mode I'm not interested in RTG or UT. I do agree the off-field stuff still needs work. Overall I think what EA has produced has been solid. There's always going to be room for improvement.

The gameplay of NCAA25 is good. Still, IMO, it’s behind Madden. Not being able to edit ANYTHING on fictional recruits is a dynasty killer. Period. Hard to get “immersed” with a QB wearing #88 or a WR wearing #71. How they didn’t foresee this being a huge issue in the game mode that they supposedly put the most work into is nuts, but it’s almost expected with EAS. If they don’t at least patch in number editing it’ll be a HUGE let down. Hopefully Madden is at least as good as M24.
