Re: The Most Devastating Losses Of Your Dynasty?

Started out as FSU. Lost my first game on a last second FG to Georgia Tech. I told myself I was just getting used to the game. Then I lost at home to Boston College and it wasn't close.

Wait a second.......

Easily my Louisiana Dynasty.

Year Four in the Natty. Rallied from 17 down in the second half to tie Michigan. Off to Overtime.

1st OT: Both score TDs and PATs
2nd OT: Both score TDs and get the conversions
3rd OT: UM scores 2pt conversion on literally a straight dive
I run motion QB power and get stuffed at the GL. Lose 54-52.

Haven't been back to the Natty since.

Re: The Most Devastating Losses Of Your Dynasty?

Just had mine. Year 2031 with Colorado State. I'm undefeated, and beat Maryland in the CFP quarterfinals at the Orange Bowl.

Next game, I play West Virginia in the Peach Bowl in the CFP semifinals, winner goes on to play for the title.

Was a good back and forth game. Neither team could get any breathing room.

Late in the fourth quarter, I took the lead 31-27. I felt pretty confident, as my defense has been stout all season long. Unfortunately, the Mountaineers pushed the ball down the field and score a TD with 24 seconds left. It's 34-31, and I need to move the ball quickly to get into FG range.

I connect on two huge pass plays, getting inside my kicker's distance. Run the ball to set up a center of the field kick...only to get pushed by tacklers to the left hash, and I almost ran out of time. Took a timeout with 1 second left and bring out my Groza finalist kicker to send the game into OT, with a kick from about 40 yards...

...which I overpowered and got the shaky red arrow of doom. Kick was closer than I expected, but missed wide left, and I fell to WVU 34-31. WVU went on to beat Penn State in the title game, making it the fourth time in my dynasty that I lost to the eventual national champion in the CFP.

Re: The Most Devastating Losses Of Your Dynasty?

Here are the final plays of my 3 most devastating losses in a USC dynasty.

#3 Nebraska throws up a Hail Mary, I'm USC ranked #1:

Playoff, round 1 vs Washington. I take the lead 24-21 with 17 seconds left, Washington has no timeouts. All I need to do is kickoff and hold them for a few plays:

I had already beat Ohio St. in the regular season, and again in the Big10 championship (by 3 or 4 TD's). The playoff decided a rematch was necessary. Tied at 17 with 0:12 seconds left, USC has the ball at the 47 with 2 timeouts trying to get into field goal range.

Enjoy this 29 second clip of heartbreak:

I was Boise State and carried a 17-0 lead into the 4th quarter at Oregon. Then it all fell apart. Couldn't run. Couldn't pass. Couldn't play action or RPO and more importantly, couldn't get my defense off the field. They kicked a field goal as time expired to send it into overtime. Then they finished me off in double overtime with a 2 point conversion. I think I could have just laid down my controller and gotten better results.

I was 17-6 at half, but it was my wife's birthday and she was ready to use the Xbox, so I super-simmed the second half. Navy scored 19 straight points and got up 25-24. I jumped in and took control. Drove down the field, set up a FG inside the 10 with 7 seconds left. I shanked it soooo bad and lost. Like a 25 yard FG maybe went 20 yards wide of the goal posts
Haha I've done this with SuperSim twice where it's like oh I'm up 24 or whatever late in the third, let me sim and then it goes into OT and I have to be like "oh crap" and intervene.

Re: The Most Devastating Losses Of Your Dynasty?

Almost pulled off the upset against texas as toledo. Was down 19-13 just over a minute left had the ball 2nd goal from the 8. Had the TE on a corner route with the advantage to the outside. He caught it got hit and dropped it. The next play they get a strip sack and pick it up and score a TD. I lose 25-13

What really makes it worse when I watched the replay of the play the TE dropped the ball. I had the WR running a crossing route underneath and he was wide open would have walked in

Re: The Most Devastating Losses Of Your Dynasty?

Finally pulled the trigger and bought the game over the weekend. Started a Dynasty with my two favorite schools (Tennessee and Cal). Started 3-0 with both teams and everything seemed to be going smoothly.

Whenever I beat Auburn as Cal, I worried that I might need to up the difficulty (I only won by a Touchdown, but never actually felt like I was in any danger of losing). Ended up deciding to just leave the difficulty where it was and see how it goes.

Ended up losing the 4th game with both teams. Lost to Oklahoma with Tennessee 24-23, wasn't even upset about it because it was such an incredible game.

Then lost to FSU as Cal 34-13. Just got completely boat raced. As soon as they caught on to the fact that Cal has no offense without Jaydn Ott, there was nothing I could do.

Had to turn the game off after that one, they played the Seminole War Chant like 100 times and it's still stuck in my head 3 days later

Edit: The irony of being a Tennessee fan and getting annoyed at how often another team plays their fight song isn't lost on me.
