Hey guys,
Undoubtedly anyone who's played OD has come across this before - you go to check the scores/schedule screen, scroll and sort the games played column and a user has a number other than "1" in the column. Inquisition starts, tempers flare, jokes are made, decisions regarding forced Ls the next week, etc, etc, ad nauseam.
98% of the time this happens in my leagues, there is a credible reason - game froze, servers dropped, system glitched and other random but explainable excuses. Proof is given, keep it moving.
Now, across multiple ODs, we're starting to see this random phenomena of phantom restarts...the 2%. Someone plays a game and all is well until someone notices a 2 in the "games played" column. The excuse? "I didnt quit/restart" or "ive got nothing for you". I'd be more skeptical except I've read about it happening to others and have seen it first hand.
Most of my leagues have been on the up and up, honor system and all that stuff but phantom restarts are cropping up more and more often. A little far and in-between, rarely the same person and never in any consistent pattern but enough to raise flags. My issue is with the exploitability of this problem because this game...ohhhh this game...it can do things to you when you least expect it and sometimes at the worst moments. Before you realize it, you might just be rage quitting the game and sending your controller through the floor/TV. Agent Smith is alive and well in the CFB matrix but I digress.
My question is has anyone who's had to deal with the phantom restarts found an actionable way to vet them? Some kind of screenshot/video clip system? Formal game time start cues? Something thats not overly taxing or takes the fun and fluidity out of playing OD with the fellas? Any suggestions are welcome.
Stay frosty and keep your foot on that CPU's neck!

I've had the phantom times-played occur in one of my online dynasties, but it only happened in the playoffs.
Someone played the last bowl game that week super early in the morning before work, so once they clicked Ready To Advance, we advanced to Week 2 of Bowl Season at 6:00am. By 8:00am, 2 of the user teams had played = 1, when obviously neither were online or had been online at 8:00am on a weekday.
Our league streams games via Twitch. Adds to both the fun and integrity when anyone can watch each other user's games, scout their opponents by watching "game film", and also make sure they aren't cheesing or violating rules.
And the Twitch app is a fairly seamless integration with PSN. Not overly complicated whatsoever.
