Ohio State's incoming freshmen don't even hit campus until early-mid August, which is when the players and coaches start practice.

July is probably the slowest month for football news. Releasing the game anywhere from today until about August 10th wouldn't make much of a difference, except for players who get kicked off their respective teams, or non-qualifying freshmen. Even if you waited until the teams had a couple weeks of practice, it's all coachspeak anyhow. Not much has changed since the Spring Games.

well maybe not rosters, but gameplay could be enhanced and rosters could be pushed back until now....
