I think the IGN review was pretty accurate....For me all the stuff that was added to the game was surrounding fluff that I will never use. Im strictly a gameplay dynasty person and in my opinion, the least improvements were made to this area....so 2010 feels much like a 2009.5 for me. Perhaps others who utilize those other features in the game will find more value in 2010. I kind of feel like I spent too much money on this game right now

I dont know if this has been said or not already, but one feature thats driving me CRAZY and I LOVE IT is when LBs shove WR's off their routes, it makes them stumble and if you happen to throw the ball when they are stumbling, they will NOT go after the ball...because they are stumbling trying to regather themselves.

This is something that adds to the strategy of the under routes because you really have to be paying attention to your WRs. You cant just apass the ball thinking the WR is about to clear the LB ok. He may get bumped and mess up the whole timing of the throw.

That coupled with how active the Dline swats balls makes the under routes a challenge.

Re: ***Official Impressions Thread (360/PS3)***

OK after a couple more games (half games really, I got bored with them)...

Just plays really similar to last year IMO. Last year may play better, tough to say at this point, maybe I just had the right sliders for 09.

Good:

-The dumb CPU QB read option is mostly gone. That was horrible last year.
-Some good new animations. Not a ton, but some.
-Team Builder. Used Appalachian State and had some fun vs Michigan.
-Flexbone playbook is improved I believe. Georgia Tech had some good runs against me and I had some fun with Air Force.
-Jersey options
-The kicking game is improved. The CPU actually misses and the ball just seems lighter in the air. Tough to explain but I like it.
-I do like how you can spin/juke/stiff arm your way out of tackles. It just seems like you can't use it often enough because of how fast everyone hounds you.

Bad:

-Game seems to play really fast. Ball is hiked, .1 seconds later I'm getting tackled.
-Part of that is probably that the blocking needs so much work. It's about the same as last year I suppose, which is pretty bad.
-Fumbles...probably a realistic amount but too many returned a long ways by the opposing team.
-Passes are thrown very fast with no arc. Faster than last year. Still no touch on most of them. QB animations may be a little different but still look bad to me.
-DBs draped all over WRs making it tough for YAC. Simple routes like outs just don't replicate the real life game of football. Ball thrown too hard, defense sticking to WR. YAC does occur, mostly because sometimes your WR come pretty open due to missed assignment or play call. Thats probably a good thing though.
-Pass rush just isn't there, despite iffy blocking. Helps because your WR take forever to get open it seems.
-Missed tackle animations are rough. Plus when a tackle is in the process of being missed/broken, the rest of the defense slows down causing big plays.
-Pursuit angles are very questionable IMO.
-Momentum isn't really there. Can fly all over the field, especially with defenders without penalty of changing directions. This is really affecting the game I think..

I don't know what else to say right now. I think it's NCAA 9.5 at this point. I'll post more later again, if anyone has questions I'll answer them. Hope this helps someone out.

Yeh that seems to be a problem. I noticed it in the demo as well. Little or no touch on passes. Not only does it mess up the the feel of passing but it also has a negative impact while you're playing defense...making it nearly impossible to switch to a man and make a play on a passed ball, even if you have a guy in between the QB and the receiver...For me it's been the biggest annoyance of next gen football...doesn't sound like things are any different this year.

You must be playing as NC state.

Is anyone else tired of depending on a patch to make this game the way it should be?

You must be playing with some bad teams or something. Play with Oklahoma, Florida, USC, Ohio State or Texas. Better players will block better, have better pursuit angles and throw the ball better. Of course you are going to get poor blocking with bad teams, that's realistic. The only problem I agree with you on is the passing. Every pass is thrown so hard, I really want to see the throws slowed down for next year, or even in a patch if possible.

I certainly understand what you are saying. However, I think with today's gaming culture, patches have pretty much just become an extension of development time. In a way I think its okay given how short development times are. I would rather have it fixed via patch then not at all.
