Thanks Skyboxer. Heading out at lunch time to pick it up. Sound like a fun game to pass the time at least until Madden comes out.

It is a very fun game and certainly better than 09.
Have fun.

Re: ***Official Impressions Thread (360/PS3)***

Finally got it this morning and played a couple games, really like it so far, won my first game as oregon against purdue and was able to run and pass fairly well and won the game. Then played as Michigan against Ohio St. and got shutdown. Kicked a field goal and that was the only scoring in the first half then threw a pick on my opening drive of the second half and Pryor threw a TD on the first play then went 3 and out and gave up another TD, ended up losing 24-3.

Haven't played online yet but I'll be on most of the afternoon if anyone wants to get a game in, I'll probably be using Oregon.

For the rosters, do you need XBOX Live Gold or will a silver account work?

Keep the impressions coming.

How much better are the pursuit angles?
Any psychic DB's or super human LB's?
Sorry, I may have overlooked this earlier "smelly Nole fan" :

- Pursuit angles are way better than in '09. I have seen an occasional poor angle taken from a safety, but that's fine because sometimes they do. '09 was just atrocious in this department.

- The awareness on DBs and LBs is a little better because they usually track the ball. I have yet to set the superhuman 48" vertical leap with the one hand slinging back to swat the ball down. What also helps this area is the new animations they added for defending the pass.

- I have not seen the superhuman LBs (yet). I have played against some pretty good defenses too. Most INTs that I have thrown have been in the secondary. I have thrown a couple INTs to LBs, but they were definitely legit. I think I have thrown 25 INTs in 16 games. The CPU has thrown 19 or 20 INTs.

FYI - I have only played on All-American, so I can speak about Heisman and the shenanigans that may occur on that level of difficulty.

I had the same dilemma. I ended up going with the ps3 and am happy with my choice. Graphics are beautiful. Much better than last year. The fans on the sideline still look god awful but I guess next-gen or not 3d rendering 110k fans in Neyland stadium might make any system chug a little bit. I am worried about the teambuilder thing *I know you didn't ask, but the team I created disappeared. I was reading posts on the ea forums and some people created 10 teams that just disappeared. Crazy stuff. The gameplay and graphics are great on the ps3 my friend.

Re: ***Official Impressions Thread (360/PS3)***

Well I have played more this morning and I have to say that I like what I have seen so far. I have figured out that if I don't have the CPU sprint to the line of scrimmage out of the huddle, I am able to set up my defensive schemes to my liking for the most part, unlike last night when I was just trying to rush through a game and subsequently got destroyed by UNC.

There are some flaws and annoyances that I have seen (most of them already being listed in this thread or the bug thread, so I won't be a dead horse) but nothing that has been a gamekiller for me. Which, IMO, already makes this year's version top 09 for me.

If there is one thing I reeeeaaaaally would like to see them do next year, it would be to slow the overall game speed down. Or at least give us a 3 option set (Slow/Normal/Fast) for us to choose the speed of the game like I have seen in basketball titles recently. I feel at times that things happen so fast, it takes a little of the realism out for me.

You know how on TV they show very very old sports highlights from the 20's and '30s in black and white and they all seem to be moving a x2 speed? That is the feeling I get at times when playing NCAA 10. I have gotten used to it as the morning has gone on, but I would really like to seem them slow everything down next year and make it more true to life.

Re: ***Official Impressions Thread (360/PS3)***

I can't for the life of me get a challenge from the CPU offense on anything but Heisman.

I lowered my defensive sliders and raised the cpu offensive sliders and they just can't score enough to challenge me or make me sweat.

I managed to tweak the sliders enough to make it harder for me to score on All American but the CPU offense is very bad on this level.

Heisman is amped up in terms of the boost the CPU gets but it does make me stay on my toes when playing defense.

I think a good set of working sliders will make Heisman a great level to play at.
