Is this game worth buying for dynasty mode?

I see a long thread about player progression problems. Is it bad enough to ruin the dynasty mode?

In the past I found it was far too easy to recruit stud players regardless of program prestige. I see what appears to be a revamped recruiting process. Is it now more realistic than before?

Thanks.

Recruiting is just as easy in 10 as 09.

Yeah, recruiting has not really changed since 2009. I had hoped that competitive recruiting would add a new element to it (and, indeed, it may), but it's never properly explained to you what your negative pitches are doing, and the whole thing just feels like a waste of recruiting resources.

What HAS changed is that you don't feel the sense of accomplishment in building your team through recruiting anymore, because pretty much every team is going to become considerably better in years 2, 3, and 4, due to the broken progression model. Therefore, while it probably is important to recruit well and restock talent, you're not really going to notice how well you are and aren't doing it, when you play as a 5-star team but already have multiple players at certain positions ranked 90 or higher.

Honestly, if you're the kind of gamer who played NCAA almost entirely for Dynasty, and either didn't care about the actual games as much (or simmed through them), then the $14.99 used copy of NCAA 09 at GameStop is probably better equipped to satisfy that need than this game is.

2010 is night and day different from 09 as far as animations graphics and such are concerned.

you are really just doing yourself a big disservice in not getting the latest and greatest.

Re: Is this game worth buying for dynasty mode?

While I have not seen the inflated training numbers in my Navy Dynasty, I do feel that the rosters are rated too high and so leads to their being too many players rated 95 and above. It hasn't affected my Top 25, I have seen teams get worse in their ratings (Ask my offense who went from a C+ to a C )

It is annoying, it is almost enough to make me throw the disc against the wall but I must admit I am not seeing the extreme cases some people have reported. I personally think that the progression problem comes from it being linked to prestige now.

The prestige is a problem, but it's even for every team. There was a thread showing the bell curve of teams, and it was the same, just moved up and to the right. More teams rated higher, but every time is higher, and it was still even.

My problem with the previous version was recruiting and building a dynasty was simply too easy. I had Iowa St a 5 star program and landing blockbuster recruiting classes. I prefer a little more of a challenge than that.

I'm probably not the target audience for the game, but I just get bored when it isn't a challenge.
