I think we'd have several "Transition years" if that is the case. I see issues with the only physics based game I've played in the Backbreaker demo already. Those wouldn't fly in EA games in my opinion. There'd inherently be different problems.

I don't know if canned animations could leave completely? I'm no expert so I don't want to just make a guess.

I don't think its a simple matter of them getting canned animations right, or going to pure physics based, ala Backbreaker. You need a combo of both. Its the collisons or interactions that need to be physics based esp. You see it in BB, running, juking, spinning are all canned animations. Its when 2 or more players collide is where it shines, and that's what you want to be in Madden 12, NCAA 12 and so on...

This is what I thought, too. BB has canned animations, so they don't seem to be simply something of the past. Minimizing them could be a positive, though. I always thought All Pro Football's long animations looked very smooth and appealing.

IT would be nice to see that happen. I wouldn't be the least surprise if EA is already working on it with a side group right now for ncaa 12 and madden 12. But like some guy said on here. It might take 2-3 years. But I doubt it. The lastest I think would be 2013 madden and ncaa. But I'm sure once people play NHL 11 and see the new engine at work. Then fans are going to be wanting it in madden and ncaa bad. But who knows.

Bro why so neg. about it. We don't know how it is going to look on NHL 11 yet. Give it a chance.

I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. The NHL series has been great so I don't need to see how it's going to look in their game, it was already good. These football games are a different story. My avatar is proof of how poorly these games animate.
