Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

For those that have finished a season, are you concerned any by the low ratings of incoming recruits? Do players progress enough to make them even serviceable?

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

I'm 6-1 in my first year, using UConn in the Big 10 (Nebraska came too). Lone loss was at home against ND, 30-14.

My big win was at #2 Ohio State, that got me from unranked to #16. Just pulled out a nail biter at Illinois, 35-31. My RB, Jordan Todman, leads the country in rushing with 159 ypg and 16 TD's. I have trouble with my passing attack so I run, run, run.

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

Played 2 games since my last update...
Hosted Arizona, I lost 24-14. Really wasn't as close as the score indicates, I felt like I got killed and my 14 points were scored later in the game anyway.

BUT I just played my greatest game so far, it was an ESPN instant classic that got a classic score of 1167 points.
If you want to see an in depth run down of the game, I've posted it. I try my best to explain it, the fourth quarter was quite possibly the most exciting quarter I've ever played. (use the link in my sig for the recap)
I upset Stanford 31-28, in their own stadium at that. Just an unbelievable game, finally picking up my second win to push my record to 2-5. lol. That's what happens when you decide to play with Washington State.

Final 4 games of the season:
vs Arizona State - 2-4, winless in the Pac-10. Certainly winnable on paper, but you never know with WSU.
vs Cal - 4-2. Not looking to be an easy game, I will definitely have to be on my game to have any chance at winning.
at Oregon State - 3-3. If I was at home, I'd give myself a greater chance at winning. But being AT Oregon State will make things much tougher.
vs Washington(ranked #20 right now) - 5-1. Biggest game of the year, hopefully I can manage to keep up with them. We'll see as time goes on.

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

I don't have much time playing mine either, but started a dynasty with Georgia, so far, 3 games in, I'm 3 and 0, but the first two games were not impressive offensively. Second game against South Carolina, it ended with me scoring in the 4th quarter to win 7-0, it was an ESPN all time classic, ranked with 546 points. I was defensive to say the least, then in the third week, I absolutley blew apart Arkansas. I helt Mallet to under 200 yards passing, and Caleb King rushed 22 times for 196 yards and 3 TD's. I won like 35 to 14. Fun game. No one has signed for recruits yet, but I do have a lot where I'm ranked in the top 3 for them.

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

Started a dynasty with Tulane, currently 4-6 and third to last in whatever section I am in C-USA. I've had blowout wins against FCS East (obvious win), Army, and and a shocker with Southern Miss. I lost a real heartbreaker against Tulsa when my runningback fumbled the ball in OT after the possesion where they scored, 49-42. However, it was rated as an ESPN Classic with maybe 900 or so points. Recruiting has been difficult, but so far I've been able to land maybe 8-10 2 star recruits and a 3 star runningback. I nearly got a 4 star TE to commit to me but he commited to OU when I was a single recruit point behind them. The only decent players on my team have been my linebacking core and my two halfbacks, one has 1200 yards and 8 TDs so far, and the other I am not sure.

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

Currently in Year 2/Week 8 of my Syracuse dynasty (AA difficulty/AA recruit)

Season 1 I went 9-3 (L's to Washington, Louisville, Alabama), won the Big East, and got curb stomped by Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Could have just as easily lost 2 more games but I beat BC in 2OT and USF in the dying seconds. I got one 4* recruit (from NJ) and really had to put time in to get him, and then a bunch of 3*/2* guys.

Season 2 I am now 5-1 (L to Buffalo opening weekend). The combo of Nassib and Chew have been money both seasons. So far with that one great season under my belt and really working my pipeline states, I have locked up four 4* and two 3* recruits. Every single one is a pipeline guy so working to get those guys pays off.

Work your pipeline states as much as you can.

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

I finished my second season, ended up signing a full class of 25 recruits with 14 3*s and 11 2*s. Also got 2 more transfers, one QB and another RB. We ended up 10-3 after losing our bowl game.

In year 3 we are up to a D+ and bouncing back a little talent wise. I have a very decent 6'4" WR with 91 speed who does a decent job stretching the field. Opposite him I have a WR who seems to consistently get open underneath and makes good moves underneath. At TE I have a decent blocking TE who is 6'5" and a decent redzone receiver and a converted WR who is 6'3" and 210 lbs who gives me a field stretching option from the position.

My QB is up to a 70 overall and is up to 72 in accuracy. He still misses some easy throws but makes more than last year. My transfered HB from the 1st offseason is an 81 overall and does a solid job running considering how many holes there are in my oline.

My oline is led by a 77 overall LT and a 74 overall C and a 72 overall RG who has 95 awareness. My LG, although he is a decent run blocker, cannot hold up as a pass blocker and my RT is a converted guard who is just a 59 overall. I have a decent freshman that I am redshirting there who is a 60 overall already and may be able to become a solid lineman.

On defense we are led by my transfered MLB who is an 84 overall. Outside him I am very weak with both OLBs below 60 overall. I have one good corner with 91 speed and 88 acceleration and 76 man coverage. He is a 69 overall. My #2 however is a 62 overall with just 88 speed and only mid 60s on both zone and man coverage.

My SS is tough and is up to an 80 overall now and has become a pretty good playmaker on defense. My FS has the speed and athletic ability to be good but is lacking in skills.

My dline is anchored by a 76 overall pass rushing DT who got 7.5 sacks last year and will be looking to repeat or better this year. At the DE position I have one DE who is a 68 overall and just a sophmore. The other side isn't as strong but he has 74 finesse moves.

I also have a FS who was an athlete when recruited who I have playing the #2 running back spot in the wildcat. Through 4 games so far this season he has ran for 3 touchdowns all over 60 yards and has thrown for 2 more. He is also playing in dime situations on defense and next year will be starting at FS. I am hoping in a few years when he is a (RS) senior he will be able to challenge for the heisman just because you don't see FSs up there often. I could see him doing it too. He is quite a playmaker.

On special teams I am pretty strong but both my K and P are seniors so next year will not be so hot there.

Re: NCAA11 Off-Line Dynasty Progress

I'm playing Miami of Ohio. I took the liberty of adding a couple created dudes to make it competitive. In year one, I worked my way up to #3 in the nation, behind Alabama and Ohio State. I saw a golden opportunity to play in the National Championship - Ohio State was set to play #11 Purdue, 10-1. I played Purdue to try to beat them. The game was ****. There were probably 5 4th down conversions, each team answered each other's touchdowns. It was 50 - 43 OSU with 1:30 left in the 4th. The QB led a valiant drive down to the 5 yard line. It was third and Goal with 13 seconds left. I called my one remaining time out...

And when I called the play, the accelerated clock wound down to 0 for some reason. I lost the game for Purdue, and my chance to play in the National Championship... all because of a damn glitch. =C
