Re: Patch imminent..?

The same thing happened last year. This was very expected. Best for everyone next year to wait a few weeks after the release to wait and see what the next catastrophe is and then decide if they want to purchase.

however, when you take a look at it, it seems a % of the people who think there is a problem are going full force to prove they are right, a % of the people think there is no problem what so ever and when they try to get a word in edge wise, get verbally abused the the others.

then there is a group of people that don't even know a problem exists.

take it for what it's worth i guess.
Well, that's because those people are wrong.

It's one thing to not think the problems are a big deal... but they definitely do exist. The people who think there is a problem are going full force because we want the problems fixed as soon as possible. There isn't much new to be said about it now. We just have to hope EA fixes it (and hopefully soon...)

I'd be surprised if it's before Tuesday the 3rd. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the week Madden shipped.

Re: Patch imminent..?

Im willing to bet that EA is working on a patch right now. They may not be on here or on the EA forums but isnt that a good thing? Wouldnt you rather have them working on the patch then being on some online forum talking to us?

I think they are working on a patch also. I have put my Dynasty on hold till the patch comes out now I am playing R.T.G. But I can't lie and say it would be nice to get a message saying they are fixing such and such issue. I also don't want the NCAA team to rush out a patch. I can play
RTG or other games that I need to finish till the patch. EA did a great job
with this years game and I may complete all 60 years after the fixes.
The game is that good!

Re: Patch imminent..?

I doubt that a 3rd party call center would have concrete details on a patch. I expect to hear from EA when they submit the patch to MS/Sony for certification. Once it has been certified I assume EA will announce the details of the patch.

They should do both. EA has a habit of going quiet during key times during production and release. Last years roster debacle is a key example. EA did not even acknowledge a problem until two weeks after the teambuilder release. Sure, they fixed the problem, but there was something fishy about the way it was handled. Really your point about not wasting time on a forum is not true, how long does it take to post a heads up on a forum detailing the problem and progress being made? They have community managers whose job it.

Re: Patch imminent..?

I wouldn't expect any word from them until the fix is ready to be certified. The main reason being if they came out now talking about it and promising a fix no one would be understanding if the final fix was different than expectations. There may end up being technical constraints on what they can do. Until a solution has been proven out, coded, and tested they would be foolish to promise anything. On the flip side it would hurt sales if they came out and officially acknowledged the problem. Those of us active in the community on sites like this all know about it (some are in denial about the severity or are just able to live with it for now) but the casual gamers don't necessarily visit these sites. So at this point the smartest business move is to go silent.
