Re: No Huddle Offense = Annoying!

I mentioned this earlier about the CPU using players in the no huddle where they shoudn't be

Well lastnight i was playing a game and the dumb CPU lines up a 5'11 175 lb WR at FB and then uses the TE at RB on a 3rd and 4 situation completely killed their drive.........

There should be an option to turn this off if you desire

That option would be awesome.

The main thing I don't get is when they were releasing the feature videos for NCAA 11 and the spread no huddle offense was being showcased it showed the players look over to the sideline in almost every video. I wouldnt have as much a problem with how it works in the game if that animation just popped up more frequently. I hate how its just a machine gun style offense every single time. In real life there are variations to it

Re: No Huddle Offense = Annoying!

This is taken from my blog I wrote around an hour ago.

Differentiate the Spread No Huddle and the Hurry Up Offense
Playing in the ACC or Big 12 is a pain in this game. Nearly every team you face will sprint to the line after a play and will pretty much run a hurry up offense all game. It's a pain to watch and play against because of how unrealistic it is. I hate playing Clemson and having them go from a 5 wide set, to the I-Form and having WR's play the HB and FB positions.

EA needs to allow the offense to make substitutions when changing formations in the no huddle offense. This will not only slow the tempo down to get it more realistic, but will also make the offenses actually become big time threats to a defense because they will have their RB, TE, and FB run out onto the field and you either have to hope your nickel players can stop the run, or you need to call a time out.

Also, EA needs to let the defense change formations and have players run on and off the field so you can get your two extra LB's out there when going from a dime to a 4-3. But it should result in the risk of getting called for having too many men on field. This would add to the authenticity of the game. Imagine late in the game, a team completes a pass and you see their RB and FB running onto the field while two WR's run off. You want to try and get your 4-3 players out there, but the offense snaps the ball before all your men are off the field and it results in the offense getting a first down late in the game inside your red zone. This would just add to the strategy of the game even more.

Another thing that needs to be messed with is how quickly the offense snaps the ball. This isn't for the no huddle only, but all teams. I hate seeing a QB walk to the line, squatting down and hiking the ball with 26 seconds on the play clock. I'd like to see this fixed and an addition of a slider. Say putting the slider at 100 will give you the quick snaps we have now, but at 25 or so you'll see the QB snapping the ball with 10 seconds on the play clock. Even teams like TTU hardly ever get the snap off with over 15 seconds left on the play clock, yet in game, every team snaps it with over 25 seconds left unless they're running the clock down.

I agree it is annoying. It's a nice feature to have in the game, but needs re-work to it.

It needs more than a re-work it needs a lot of work. It makes it unbearable to play against the hurry up teams.

I went to about 2 Q&A sessions and 2 video Q&A's not once did may questions about this get through to them and I noticed that no questions on this were asked or answered , that alone spoke volumes to me which gave me worry's as it isn't fixed as proved in the demo with Oregon.

Re: No Huddle Offense = Annoying!

It's also annoying in RTG playing as or against No-Huddle teams. Like mentioned previously, the CPU will immediately snap the ball on offense, creating quick three-and-outs for the offense and practically no playing time for your defensive player. I don't want to stare at a sim-screen for half my game, EA.

Also, if you're playing for a spread team on offense, you have to manually "no-huddle" your team, and if you're not the QB, then it's just going to end up as the same play over and over.

Extremely unrealistic and annoying.

I hope someone important at EA reads this

Covered everything wrong with the no huddle and also the snap counts in general.

Excellent point. I think it could be fixed like this: Let's say you are a no huddle team. You should be able to go to your coach philosophy and set it. That way, in the game after each offensive play, you watch your guys head back up to the ball, thus not having to manually do it. If you weren't a no huddle team and you wanted to use no huddle, then you could just do it manually. Makes sense to me!
