Re: NCAA Football 12 Retail Impressions (Dynasty/Road To Glory - NO QUESTIONS/DISCUSS

I've played 6 games in my HB/SS's high school career, and while the playcalling is improved over last year, there are still some glaring "WTF is the coach smoking?" calls.

The biggest one I've seen is the CPU calling punts on FIRST DOWN near the end of the 2nd quarter. I was in a close game (14-7 my team, 1:12 left in the 2nd quarter) and we had driven down into the other team's territory and the CPU called a punt on 1st down. I called a timeout and it called a passing play, then a punt on 2nd down. Timeout, passing play, 1st down punt from the 10 yard line with 38 seconds on the clock.

Let me reiterate that... during a drive inside the opponent's 30 yard line, with the score 14-7 and plenty of time on the clock, the CPU called THREE punts on 1st or 2nd down.

The other complaints are less severe, things like a Dime formation Cover 4 call when the offense comes out in Goalline formation on 3rd and inches (a horrendous call, but not as bad as a 1st down punt from your opponent's 10 yard line), and 3 passing plays in a row on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th down with 1-2 yards to go and me being a big, bruising HB.

I am on OC at Cal, I think as an OC, you shouldn't have complete control over recruiting.

As a coordinator, maybe you just deal with recruits on your side of the ball. Especially when you have 10 hours to recruit, I think it would be more realistic if they gave you 5 hours to recruit players on your side of the ball and athletes (or more/less time, depending on how many offensive players you're recruiting vs. defensive players.)

I can't imagine offensive coordinators go out recruiting defensive players. But then again, I have been wrong before

Playcalling is driving me nuts. I just got the starting QB job at Notre Dame midway through my freshman season. I'm SICK of all the bubble screens, HB screens and middle screens. They work like, 3% of the time. Such useless plays and I still don't have enough trust to audible out.

We were just down 24-23 at Maryland, driving with less than a minute left. They call a HB screen and I wait and wait for the RB to break out and eventually I get sacked. Then the coach calls two straight HB dives on third and 20 and 4th and 18, when we're down by 1 at our own 40 with 2 timeouts? Really? REALLY?

I just noticed that in RTG as you progress through your career you get pride stickers on the back of your helmet(If the team you are on has pride stickers.)

I've seen OC's and DC's recruit the opposite side plenty of time. Most coaches are assigned a region to recruit. Now a lot of the times if it is a big time recruit the OC or DC may work with him more. But it does happen in real life. Go to rivals.com and look at the players who have signed with teams, it tells who they were recruited by. Some of the time it is by someone on the other side of the ball.

Played thru senior year in High School in RTG with Teambuilder team. 4* CB and 5* WR, Got scholarships from all the interested schools, Pick Florida State started as 4th string and so far in week 6 im a second string CB. 2 ints about 20 tackles 4 FF. Gameplay feels like last year, I like the coach trust and position battles and buying skill sets

Few things thou...why get rid of Erin Andrews and Kirk Herbstreit with the player spotlight I really enjoy that part of RTG. Should of kept the dorm room as the menu. Really like playing thru senior in High School and getting scholarships, but way to easy to obtain one, especially to higher end programs which should be difficult.
High School needs to feel like high school and not college, most wont play D1 football, D1 recuits should dominate in high school. If you play good, but not great big college wont be offering scholarships. Moving up depth chart is too easy and College needs to be harder the High school feels the same.

I stand corrected, thanks for clearing that up!
